The Maggot-Gods[edit]

Pnthadholic Wurms, Necrophages, the Maggot-Gods, the Reavers of Many Colors & None: Gigantic, miles-large, amorphous parasites living inside the Tempest of the Primeval Ocean, feasting on the Energy-Remains of Primordial Tiamat and her Daughters. Their thoughts are hunger. Their shapes are terrible. Their spirits are songs of madness. Echoes of Echoes.

Their origins are unknown, as they were not known to exist before the Primeval Ocean reached its current state- Before the Tempest as It Is. Sometimes they'll extend component-beings known as "Pnathadholic Tendrils" past the Gatewaters into the Material World, to eat Leviathans, Nagae/Annunaki or Typhons, or even Lahmasu or Atolls. Woe to the Wurm who devours an entire clutch's unholy beloved.

Pnathadholic Tendrils resemble humanoids with flattened, broad limbed, planarian-like humanoids and dead plate-like eyes. However, as often as they spawn as bipedals, Tendrils do come in giant Leech or Planarian forms. Pnathadholic Tendrils can assume the genetic qualities of different Terran species if they eat them. There are two known Castes of Tendrils- Ebon (Smooth) & Ivory (Segmented). Segmented Tendrils are sickeningly white, like maggots. Smooth Tendrils are jet black, like planarians. The two Castes have different abilities and different blasphemous tendencies.

If you cut a Tendril up, they can regenerate or reproduce into two Tendrils. If they eat Leviathans or leviathan-like creatures, they get stronger, but are more easily called or forced back to their Wurm-Body. If the Tendrils of one Wurm eats the Tendril of another, it can become Independent, or 'Drifting'. If a Tendril eats enough powerful Tendrils from its own Wurm, it can aid the Pnathadholic Wurm itself emerge in the Material from the Primeveal Ocean.

Cults often rise around Tendrils and their Wurms. The Necrophages seldom care either way. The Marduk Society has made Pnathadholic Research a top priority... Some heretical Leviathans suggest that the Wurms were the last children of Tiamat, stillborn and aborted upon the Primordial's death. Even more heretical Leviathans suggest giving their energy and blood to the Necrophages willingly. When this is done, they say, Tiamat may be reborn in the swirlling stagnat waters of such a future Tempest. These last tribesmen, are, luckily, a small minority.
