Glorious Blade Maiden - Lilly

Type: Solar

Motivation: Destroy the Slave Trade

Essence: 2

Motes: Personal:14 Peripheral:22

Qualities:

Good (+2) Solar Exalted - Zenith Caste: The Zenith are the chosen priests of the exalted, as well as the voices of the Unconquered Sun. Caste Powers: The zenith may burn the bodies of the dead with holy fire (2 bodies for every mote spent) which prevents the bodies or lower souls from rising as zombies or hungry ghosts. For 5 motes the Zenith glows with holy fire, adding his Exalted Quality to both offensive and defensive rolls when fighting hand-to-hand with creatures of darkness for the remainder of the scene. Caste Qualities: The Zenith are the voice of the unconquered sun and are gifted with surviving incredible trails and hardships, they favor Qualities related to persuasion, inspiration, leadership, survival and endurance. Examples: Orator, Impossible To Ignore, Inspirational Speeches, Wilderness Survivor, Iron Body Training.

Master (+6) Blade Maiden:

Lilly isn’t known as the Glorious Blade Maiden for nothing. Her skills when fighting against overwhelming odds are almost unmatched. She still uses her father’s old sword, and she considers it her only true possession.

Associated Charms

Solar Excellency

Peony Blossom Attack – To attack multiple targets at once, Lilly uses her speed and their numbers against her foes, weaving in and out of their ranks with quick feet and a flashing blade. 2 Motes/attack

Call the Blade – Sometimes even the best are caught off guard and on those occasions being able to bring your weapon to you from distance can be the difference between life and death. 1 Mote

Glorious Solar Saber – And for those times where you don’t have a weapon handy, forging your power and resolve into a mighty blade will often suffice. However she is still mastering the technique, and is somewhat loathe to use any other blade, so it isn't the devastating weapon it could be. Reduced effectiveness currently (until Essence 3), 2 Motes

Expert (+4) Immovable: Lilly will not back down and she will not surrender, no matter how outrageous the odds are against her.

Associated Charms

Bulwark Stance – They say that to surround and grind down is the method for dispatching a superior foe. When attempting to fight against the Blade Maiden, it is as if she throws up a wall of steel to confound her foes. 2 Motes to prevent multiple opponents ganging up on her.

Heavenly Guardian Defence – And when someone looks like they have landed the telling blow, the full force of her conviction overwhelms those who seek to defeat her. 6 Motes to only take 1 Failure Rank

Ready in 8 Directions Stance – The best form of defence is often to go on the offensive and Lilly is capable of striking out even when her back is up against the wall. 4 Motes to launch the counterattack.

Good (+2) I don’t want to!: As remarkable as Lilly can be, at times she’s just a stubborn kid, but now with the power of her Exaltation behind her a simple child’s obstinacy can ward off more than just nagging parents.

Associated Charms

Righteous Lion Defence – Nothing can force Lilly away from her ultimate goal of destroying everyone who sees fit to trade in slaves. If she is pursuing either the destruction of Slavers or the rescue of Slaves, nothing can stop her from doing so. Permanent.

Temptation Resisting Stance – Lilly has little time for honeyed words and false platitudes. She simply ignores them or destroys those who utter them, for a glib tongue is good for nothing save spouting falsehoods. It doubles the attached quality MOD against temptations, and treats it like an Armor-like Quality for the rest of the scene against appropriate failure ranks. 5 Motes.

Good (+2) The Oppressed Shall Arise: Lilly is seen by those who have heard her tales as a champion of the underclasses, someone who could be followed to freedom and even to glory. Acts of rebellion to assist her are par for the course, no matter how small the act may be.

Associated Charms

Majestic Radiant Presence – Her conviction radiates from her like a beacon when she chooses to display it, and people flock to her so that she may lead them out of the cold darkness. Anyone who tries to directly oppose Lilly has to beat the Quality's TN with a roll based on bravery, willpower, etc, anyone failing their resistance roll downshifts any attempts to oppose her.

Expert (+4) Why won’t you DIE!: It’s always good to be able to take the knocks and scrapes of life in your stride, Lilly makes this into an art form.

Associated Charms

Solar Excellency

Durability of Oak Meditation – When it feels like the whole world is trying to bring you down, being able to take a punch is just as important as being able to deal a few out. Despite leading a rough life and having to suffer much abuse in such a short space of time, physically Lilly is as resilient as they come. It acts as Quality armour against a single attack. 1 Mote.

Essence Gathering Temper - The harder you hit her, the harder she fights back. Whenever Lilly is hit with an attack in a fight, she can recover a number of points of Essence equal to the difference between her defence and the attacker's score. This is always active, as getting hits just makes her more determined to succeed!

Average (0) Kid:

Although to some she is seen as death on 2 legs, some people see Lilly for exactly what she is, a lost child. Whether she is pitied or patronised, the end result is that she never seems to get taken seriously until she breaks something or kills someone! However sometimes her youth does allow her to slide under any suspicion.

Poor (-2) Wanted:

Now when you have an individual out there who wants to bring down an established industry, albeit a hateful and hurtful one such as slavery, you have a lot of people with a vested interest in stopping any such idealistic nonsense. Lilly always needs to watch out as she never knows who might be looking to end her career for good.

Great Curse: Red Rage of Compassion

Special Move: Flashback Remembrance Technique – From the time she was a small girl she would watch her father whilst he was training, and under times of stress she experiences memories that she had thought long gone. She can use this to modify or alter her techniques on the fly, throwing opponents off guard and meaning that as long as she has her memories she is likely to be next to impossible to defeat. Limited to once per scene and likely to be associated with combat, but not exclusively.
