Marcus Frey

Interrogator Marcus Frey is the man you never want asking you questions. He was trained by the Schola and took his place as a Guard Commissar where he served with distinction for many years and became a master of interrogations and evidence finding. Guardmen feared his attentions, but it was understood that he was a fair man, if hard as was required. However, when a Guard unit turns, it's almost a rule that the Commissar cadre gets murdered first.

To bad for the traitors that they failed. Frey, and his junior commissars were able to pre-empt the enemy and isolate them for trial and summary execution. A full inquiry was called with the Inquisition at the head and a over a third of the unit were found tainted. Frey's action earned him a commendation, and brought him to the attentions of those who could put his skills to better use.

After serving as an Acolyte and proving his worth and dedication above and beyond what his master expected of him, he was sent for further education and training and awarded the rank of Interrogator. Instead of returning to his master's side as he'd hope though, Frey was reassigned, due to the need for further seasoning among those with a different way of doing things.
