Brindle is a character in RWBY: Training Day, played by Gyrfalcon.

Profile[edit]

Description[edit]

Brindle is a tallish, slender girl with short-cut and thickly curled brown hair and a pixyish, freckled face. Though she's often quiet, she's almost always cheerful and smiling, and prone to bursts of manic effort rather than sustained activity. She's almost something of a perfectionist, rarely willing to let a plan or task go if she feels it can be improved on in some way.

Background[edit]

Brindle is from Barbican Academy, on the western edge of the Four Kingdoms and almost right up against the wild. Barbican's almost as much a base camp as it is an educational center, and its students are often looked down on as uneducated and superstitious, short on theory and long on scutwork for visiting Hunter parties. Even so, though, Brindle's earned her admission to Beacon Academy - she's both lucky and talented, prone to stunts that she doesn't know shouldn't work and having them succeed anyway. Her detractors are just waiting for her to fail, and spectacularly. Brindle means to keep disappointing them.

Weapon[edit]

Brindle wields Silverine, a flute which would be mostly useless in anyone else's hands but seems to be quite versatile in hers. Like most Hunter weapons, it can transform itself as needed, into a slender club or a long carbine as well as its 'standard' form, but Brindle most often uses it as an instrument to focus sonic-based Aura or Dust attacks.

Links[edit]

Lady Tal'aia is Brindle's sponsor at Beacon Academy, paying the not-insignicant costs involved to allow Brindle to travel from the western frontier as well as replacing her labor on the family homestead. Brindle's pretty sure that Lady Tal'aia expects some favor or service in return for her sponsorship, but hasn't yet managed to ask for details.

Professor Riik is Barbican Academy's sole instructor of Esoteric Studies, and known for both his genius and his eccentricity. Brindle was his student for exactly one term... which he awarded her highest marks for, and then promptly refused to let her into the advanced class. It's not something Brindle likes to talk about.

The Syrats are a breed of Grimm that dwell in the western Wild Zones, infiltrate into human territory with distressing regularity, and seem to go absolutely blood-crazy whenever they run into Brindle.

Character Story Seed[edit]

Self-Discovery. Brindle wants to test her limits, find out what she's capable of and discover why mysteries and weirdness seem so attracted to her.
