Raion was once a member of a personal army known as the White Raven Brigade. Their forces were, at one time, considered to be the most powerful army in the southern west. This was until the brigade was systematically destroyed by various nobles who saw the army to be much of a threat. Most foot troops were scared or blackmailed out and almost all the generals were executed under false pretenses. All save for one.
Raion escaped execution and fled to the north where he found himself at a local temple and wound up meeting the high priest. The priest gave Raion access to knowledge of a path of martial discipline that would help him become an expert field commander. The priest explained to him that with his help and guidance he could grow an army and rebuild the White Raven Brigade.
Since then he has faithfully fought for the priest and used his expert field command to strengthen his allies.
