«BethE» Yes, he is very cute. And lil. I expect him to be drawn by Jill Thompson in the comic of our exploits.
«Random_Nerd» Yeah, because Vulcan doesn't actually like Kudzu very much.
«Lazarus» RN: I am going to set up a Project for How To Kill Entropy, but I don't know if anything counts as anything for that yet.
«Verithe» Kudzu needs to grind rep with the Vulcan.
«Random_Nerd» So, at any rate, there's two ways I can do this. There's a couple of things that NPCs are going to do that will affect you, and that you'll probably want to do something about.
«Random_Nerd» But under the circumstances, I thought you might want to do some PC-directed things before that happens.
«Random_Nerd» Which would you prefer?
«Lazarus» And should that be a sub-project of a more global "Win The Civil War" project?
«Random_Nerd» Depends what Brian wants to do.
«Lazarus» Um. I'm not sure what Brian would be doing other than Research and trying to keep Sam safe.
«Verithe» Our characters were researching between sessions, yes?
«Lazarus» Among other things, Brian will have asked William to get him everything known on Entropy.
«Lazarus» (and searched the Nobilist?)
«Angelo» I had a couple of things that Ftisk will do if time is enough...
«Knockwood» Dante already asked him to study those texts...
«Knockwood» priority one is getting info on the texts' Desecration, including and prophecies about him
«Knockwood» Meanwhile, he's tracing the effects of Shirk to locate him

«Random_Nerd» Okay, should we start with you guys discussing your plans with each other and with your underlings, and if things seem to slow down, then I'll have one of the things that are going to happen, happen?
«Random_Nerd» What methods will Dante be using to track the effects on his Estate?
«Knockwood» I should be able to spot where he's affecting Courage with basic Domain awareness... so, I'll be trying to map those
«Lazarus» Brian also wants to know how the "recruitment" is going.
«Random_Nerd» By which you mean you guys' efforts to contact other sympathetic Nobles?
«Lazarus» (or at least, some general idea of how the sides are going to be drawn)
«Lazarus» yeah - we'd subcontracted to the Aides. Sorta.
«Random_Nerd» Well, they're starting to put the word out.
«Random_Nerd» But any "Hey, wanna join this rebellion I've been thinking of starting" is going to be up to you guys.

«Angelo» 1) going to cross index know locust court cases with existing nobles to have a list of the ones with a grudge to Entropy
«Angelo» 2) Contact Ophaniels, Jaris, Martyrs to join the civil war side
«Angelo» 3) F. will ask Brian to open a portal and send outside a note asking for warmain shards
«Angelo» 4) Ask what JbJ want to be on our side as sacrifice?

«Random_Nerd» William: "As near as I can guess, the entries referring to 'Desecration' as the Fifth King are recent, within the last hundred years or so, and not based on a common text."
«Brian» "Hey Ftisk ... can you do a Data Divination to find everything about Entropy? Like, everything that has been written anywhere? We need /more data/"
«Random_Nerd» William: "That is running under the assumption that the textual copies you were able to find are an at least reasonable representative asssortment."
«Ftisk» "Sure!"
«DanteE» "They should be. Ftisk is Data, after all."
«Random_Nerd» (He can, but he'll need Strike to find stuff that's located in most Chancels, and picking what sort in particular you're looking for would be useful, so you're not drowning in semi-relevant trivia.)
«Brian» "Preferably pipe it to my computer, so that we can have access to it. Without reams of paper."
«Brian» (well, first we get everything, then we can do our DB searches ;))
«DanteE» to Brian: "Or you could feed it to the AI."

«DanteE» "I mean the ones from the Book of Spite."
«Random_Nerd» William: "About Entropy... two big ones. First, that he'll either save Creation, betray us and destroy us all, or possibly both."

«Random_Nerd» William: "And even the versions that have Desecration in them are spottier about him. No little semi-verse descriptions of what he does, for instance."

«Kite» "If Earth is supposed to be a sacrifice that will save Creation, I think I'm going to be ill..."
«Random_Nerd» (All of Shadows' summonings are handled with Treasure.)
«Brian» (gotcha. Opening a channel to Outside would be lowish Treasure? Searching for someone specific higher?)
«Random_Nerd» (He has bonds to Jeeves, to the Pigeon, and one of Bond (3): "Sometimes I summon other things for short durations.")
«DanteE» "What's the second one about Entropy?"
«Random_Nerd» William: "It's a prophecy of Ananda, who's probably the second most reliable source out there for the future. Basically, that if Entropy and Ananda directly oppose each other, Something Bad will happen. He's never said what."
«DanteE» "That may be why he didn't vote against him...
«Random_Nerd» William: "But he didn't just abstain, he voted /for/ him."
«Random_Nerd» William: "That's rare."
«DanteE» "If he knows or suspects what the Something Bad is..."
«Random_Nerd» William: "From what I've heard, he sounds like he knows what it is, that it's something specific, but that he isn't telling."
«Kite» "Should we..../can/ we talk to Ananda about this?
«DanteE» "Abstaining would have left the vote at 2-1 against Entropy, wouldn't it?"
«Random_Nerd» William: "That question's above my pay grade, sir."
«Random_Nerd» (that was to Kite.)
«Random_Nerd» (Oh, by the way, the Power of Hell that you bought the souls from was Concessions.)

«Brian» "We can inquire as to why he voted the way he did. We will be unlikely to receive an answer"
«Kite» "That's okay, William. I'm not sure I want an answer just yet, anyway."
«Random_Nerd» He nods.
«Random_Nerd» William: "What should I work on now?"
«Kite» (I was misremembering!)
«Brian» "Ftisk, yes, I can do it, but I'm not very practiced - it could be very taxing"
«Brian» (RN: "Bond: Explore reality: how it all works!" is the other one I wanted to change around. It was meant to be a summoning type bond, but I don't like the way it's worded for that)
«Random_Nerd» (How would you rather do it?)
«DanteE» "Did you find the original version of the Shirk Prophecy?"
«Brian» (talk it out after the session?)

«DanteE» "Do it. And let us know if anyone else spouts something prophetic..."

«Random_Nerd» (Cutting out the glossolalia, it was "These are the signs of the coming of the First King. Duty turns to affection and pride. Dedication turns to the seeking after pleasure. The will to live becomes the fear of death.")
«DanteE» "Jan ben Jan's been around for ... how long?"
«Random_Nerd» William shrugs.
«Random_Nerd» William: "Pre-Fall. He's one of the Old Gods."
«Ftisk» "Uhm.. I have a flash. How Patterns will react to all that?!?"
«Theresa» "If there's a prophecy about anything, he knows it. There's just a price." *wiggle fingers that are left*
«Random_Nerd» William: "Possibly pre-time. Not many non-angels are that old, but he might be."
«Brian» "Patterns is probably currently having a fit."
«DanteE» (What are the odds of us finding Cneph?)

«Random_Nerd» It is suddenly obvious to Ftisk that if he wants to arrange with Jan ben Jan to know the answer to one or more questions, he needs merely to decide to go and meet with him, and he will be in Jan's presence."
«DanteE» (I mean you may think it's a long walk down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to The Ash)
«Random_Nerd» S: "Boss, could you do some magic miracle thing to make me resist the wind? I'm braced up against the eardrum of a giant snake, and it's still pretty bad."
«Ftisk» "peoples, who want to go to ask JBJ?"
«DanteE» "Not just yet, I want to keep all my fingers. (To Theresa) No offense."
«Theresa» *Urgh...I could come Ftisk."
«Theresa» "None taken."
«Brian» (Will do whichever Treasure miracle is required for Sam to withstand the wind. Since I am in chancel, even though he isn't, I get the -3 MPs, yes? Since he is an Anchor, he is a valid Miracle Target no matter where he is, I expect.)
«Random_Nerd» S: "And why is there wind out here anyway? Shouldn't it be outer sp... never mind. I have spent /far/ too much time on Earth."
«Kite» "I want to go, Ftisk."
«Theresa» "But I am rather certain that the answer to that question will need a heavy price. I mean _heavy_."
«Brian» "I'll go with you, Ftisk."
«Random_Nerd» (If you're doing it on him, when he's outside the Chancel, the discount does not apply.)

  • Theresa is thinking that this might be a 'pay with your entire head' sort of question.

«Theresa» (And how is our cute little indicator of Impending Doom? Ooo, is he going to visit the Third Age?)
«Brian» (very well. I have 9 TMPs available says the wiki, so I can do up to level 10, if there were a level 10!)
«Random_Nerd» (Let's see. Ways you can do that.)
«Random_Nerd» (You could use a level 1 miracle to possess Sam. While you're doing so, he would have access to your defensive Gifts.)
«Ftisk» "ok, let's go and ask JbJ then"
«Brian» (Auctoritas is only a Miracle defence. So wouldn't protect him against wind.)
«Brian» (afk a sec)
«Random_Nerd» (You could use a level 2 miracle of Guidance to extend yourself into Sam while still in your own body. You would share his senses, and he would have Edge 1 for everything he does, including protecting himself from the Wind.)
«DanteE» "Brian, ask Sam if he's heading for Hell. And I don't mean just by associating with us."

«Random_Nerd» Far below you is what looks like a frozen planet, with a whitish-bluish glow from deep within.

«Random_Nerd» It appears to be made of thousands, millions, trillions of severed hands, eyes, arms, and so on, all frozen together and become semi-translucent.
«Random_Nerd» Somewhere down there are some of Theresa's fingers, and one of Ftisk's eyes. But they're part of Jan ben Jan now.
