-->| YOU (Angelo) have joined #Nobilis

<Angelo> Hi guys!

<Random_Nerd> Hey, we do have an Angelo.

<Angelo> :-)

<Etheric> Hi there! I'm watching again for today.

<Angelo> I'm not at my 100%

<Angelo> but I'm here

<BethE> Hi Angelo! *HUG*

  • Angelo counter hug Beth

<Random_Nerd> So, last week had been /going/ to be Amyra, but we were down two people.

<Random_Nerd> What are you guys' preferences for this week, Amyra or Chuubo?

<Angelo> Amyra! Ftisk win handdown on my russian girl :-P

<BethE> I have no preference.

<Verithe> I'm in favor of Amyra, today

<Random_Nerd> Amyra it is, then.

<Random_Nerd> We'll just wait for Knock and then we can start.

<Random_Nerd> So... while we wait.

<Verithe> Yes?

<Random_Nerd> There are two main short-term things you are dealing with now.

<Angelo> we play canasta?

<Random_Nerd> The fallout with the Aides and others from the fact that Entropy is now supporting you.

<Angelo> ah! Sorry.

<Random_Nerd> And the photos that Entropy left with Jerren.

<Random_Nerd> As of last session, one of those was identified for you.

<BethE> But we haven't identified the dude that looks like the Giant we did not eat.

<Random_Nerd> Correct.

<Random_Nerd> Nor the other one.

<Random_Nerd> So... Still no Knock.

<Random_Nerd> Let me check my email again.

<Random_Nerd> Huh. Nothing.

<Random_Nerd> Well, shall we wait another ten minutes?

<BethE> Sounds good.

<Verithe> Sounds good to me too.

<Angelo> thirded

<Knockwood> Hi guys.

<Angelo> Hi Knock!

<Verithe> Magic!

<Knockwood> Sorry I'm late, I was dumb enough to tell my boss "I'll do this before I leave"... :/

<Random_Nerd> Hey, Knock.

<BethE> Hi Knock!

<Random_Nerd> Okay, let's get started. The vote was that it was Amyra this week.

=-= BethE is now known as Theresa

<Random_Nerd> You'd just found out the identity of one of the three mystery photos.

=-= YOU are now known as Ftisk

<Random_Nerd> Now, is there anything else you guys wanted to do on-screen in Dionyl, or should we start with you back in Amyra?

=-= Knockwood is now known as DanteE

<Verithe> Kite wanted to check in on the cult.

<Random_Nerd> Okay. Shall we start there?

=-= Verithe is now known as Dionyl-Kite

<Dionyl-Kite> Sounds good

<Ftisk> Ftisk will try to spray acid on some Dionyl (learning the Conrad gift)

<Random_Nerd> Well, isn't it less acid, and more superheated silver?

<Ftisk> yeah, I keep misremembering! :-/

<DanteE> ... I can heal anyone he hurts, right?

<Dionyl-Kite> Kite is vehement that it not be one of his cultists that molten silver get spewed on.

<Ftisk> I'll ask for volunteers

<Random_Nerd> Your Gift has been expanded to include Dionyl, yes.

<Random_Nerd> The problem is, while the heat won't hurt them, the viscosity would.

<Random_Nerd> So, shall we start?

<Ftisk> But I don't think Ftisk can pull out the superheated silver, he is learning the gift

<DanteE> OK

<Random_Nerd> _______START________

<Random_Nerd> The Temple of Chytosideron is still small as a Domination-styled city state works.

<Random_Nerd> But the grounds are larger than they were the last time you were there in person. A larger number of small dwellings have sprung up.

  • Dionyl-Kite is pleased at this, yes.

<Random_Nerd> Additionally, from the temple itself, additional smells have began to emanate. Coal smoke. Cut wood.

<Random_Nerd> The area of Dionyl stabilized by the temple is probably about a three mile radius, by now.

<Random_Nerd> The puzzle piece emblem above the gate gleams brightly, and has almost certainly been polished recently.

|<-- DanteE has left irc2.magicstar.net (Ping timeout)

  • Ftisk go outside the 3 miles radius and start advertising to find volunteers to spray with super heated silver

<Random_Nerd> (Clarity will have returned to her duties elsewhere.)

-->| Knockwood (~Knockwood@4F0B9266.4D3BC4C7.3820EA4D.IP) has joined #Nobilis

<Knockwood> Hello?

<Random_Nerd> As the group of you walks closer, something about the metallic sounds from the temple proper changes.

<Dionyl-Kite> ((Hello!))

<Random_Nerd> (Hello.)

<Ftisk> (hiya)

<Knockwood> (damned computer glitches...)

<Random_Nerd> A voice in a nearby Dionyl dialect, but with a slightly unusual accent: "It works! It works again!"

=-= Knockwood is now known as DanteE

<Theresa> "It appears that they have a Kite-detector, in a way."

<Dionyl-Kite> "I need to figure out a way to keep it working..."

<Theresa> "Get enough of a foothold and it will."

<Random_Nerd> Spear, in drill-sergeant voice: "Okay! I know this is a holy miracle. But it is /also/ time to get to /work/, if we want enough assemblages for the next stage!"

<Random_Nerd> And you're at the gates.

<DanteE> (What did I miss?)

  • Dionyl-Kite coughs

<Dionyl-Kite> (Mostly approaching the temple. Not much.)

<Ftisk> (send to Dante)

<DanteE> (Got it, thanks)

<Random_Nerd> The two dionyl at the gate wear mail armor, bronze helmets studded with outward-facing pins, and hold spears with blades of bronze and shafts of wood.

<Dionyl-Kite> "Did you two assemble those spears yourselves?"

<Random_Nerd> The two, in unison: "Yes! Sir! Chytosideron! Sir!"

<Dionyl-Kite> "Wonderful!"

<Dionyl-Kite> "Wait....I'm supposed to be talking to my priests."

<DanteE> "So, it works... when Kite's here."

<Random_Nerd> The voice, there, is not just vaguely military. Instead, while the language is a Dionyl one, the intonations are distinctively those associated with English-speaking military depictions.

<Random_Nerd> And as Kite says that, Jonathan walks through the door. He's dressed in a quilted robe, and is carrying a small Dionyl in a sort of sling around his chest.

<Random_Nerd> Despite that you've not seen him in this outfit before, the mannerisms are distinct enough to show that it's him.

<Random_Nerd> Few Dionyl are that preppy.

<Dionyl-Kite> "Ah, Jonathan!"

<Theresa> (Baaaaby!)

<DanteE> "Someone's had training, I think."

<Random_Nerd> Jonathan: "Gilbert assisted in that. We agreed that human militaries would serve in certain respects as examples of assembly as applied to people. So he provided us with a list of distinctive group-bonding methods."

<Dionyl-Kite> (Is this smaller Dionyl different than the Golden Puzzle, who was self-mobile when we last met?)

<Random_Nerd> (It's her, but she's sleeping.)

<Dionyl-Kite> "He is a wonderful assistant."

<DanteE> (We should probably be quiet... wait, Johnathan's been yelling)

<Random_Nerd> (She's still asleep, or at least, not moving.)

<Theresa> (No, Spear's been yelling.)

<Dionyl-Kite> "How are you getting along? How is the Spear? Have you taught the Golden Puzzle how to catch fish?"

  • Ftisk tries to tickle the kid

<Dionyl-Kite> "....."

<Dionyl-Kite> "Wait, you don't eat fish, do you?"

<DanteE> (Yeah, but she was in the room)

<Random_Nerd> Jonathan: "Now, the methods used by Dionyl militaries are similar, but are... hmm. How to put it. They rely on shared worldsight for their coordination."

<Random_Nerd> Jonathan: "Well, not directly. But fish do create motion in water that is qualitatively different from those produced by turbines or augers."

<Dionyl-Kite> "Ah."

<Random_Nerd> Jonathan: "And if you're wondering why Puzzle is with me here, we wanted her to take equally after both of us, but I don't, ah, project as strongly as the Spear does."

<Dionyl-Kite> "I believe I comprehend."

<Random_Nerd> J: "To make up for this, we have to have close proximity between me and her, when her mother is busy elsewhere."

<Random_Nerd> J: "Now, do you want to inspect our operations here, Lord Chytosideron?"

<DanteE> "Guess the child care on Dionyl is a bit... interesting."

<Dionyl-Kite> "Yes! I would be most pleased to do so!"

<Random_Nerd> J: "Yours is even more complicated, as far as I can tell. You actually grow specialized structures and extrude fluids just to feed them."

<Theresa> "If you need any additional slings or baby carriers, we have some created on Earth if you would like to see examples and we can supply them."

<DanteE> "Part of our mammal nature.

<Dionyl-Kite> "No...no....oh, mammals!"

<Random_Nerd> J: "Now, there are two main areas that will be at work right now, the personnel and the mechanical portions."

  • Theresa feels rather weird right now.

<Dionyl-Kite> "Silly mammals."

<Random_Nerd> Samuel: "Silly, silly mammals."

<Ftisk> "Better have both sexes on you!"

<Random_Nerd> Samuel: "Oh, we don't have sexes. Just genders."

<DanteE> (... I'm going to regret saying that, aren't I)

<Ftisk> "BUT sexes are FUN!"

<Dionyl-Kite> "Alright."

<Dionyl-Kite> (I vote "Silly, silly mammals" as chapter title....unless we think of a better one)

<Random_Nerd> (Agreed.)

<Random_Nerd> Jonathan: "Which section do you want to observe first?"

<DanteE> ( heh )

<DanteE> ( what all's in this chapter? )

<Random_Nerd> (From when you got Baalhermon.)

<Dionyl-Kite> "Let's begin with personnel and you can explain its basic structure while we walk."

<Random_Nerd> A messenger-Dionyl, in light mail armor, runs up to Jonathan. He nods at the messenger and says "Yes. To Locus Caesar at once."

<Dionyl-Kite> "Is 'walk' the correct term to use?"

<Random_Nerd> The messenger nods and runs off.

<DanteE> (In that case: "Silly, silly humanity")

<Random_Nerd> Jonathan: "Now, Dionyl do have armies, of course. But we manage them differently. How familiar are you with how Domination of worldsight works?"

<Theresa> "The stronger controls the reality."

<Random_Nerd> Jonathan: "Yes. So, for a group to successfully work together, this process of domination must take place."

<Random_Nerd> He walks with you.

<Random_Nerd> J: "The soldiers must challenge, and either subsume or be overcome by, their peers."

<DanteE> "so, you're managing the worshippers like a platoon?"

<Random_Nerd> J: "Additionally, you must have a leader who can effectively overcome any of them."

<Dionyl-Kite> "So personnel deals with this?"

<DanteE> "oh, more like a wolf pack."

<Random_Nerd> J: "Yes. We are working on human-based social models for groups."

<Dionyl-Kite> "Fascinating!"

<Random_Nerd> He walks over to a balcony, under which a group of Dionyl are going through something that looks like a cross between military drill and tai chi.

<Dionyl-Kite> "Mixed-flock feeding groups must function atrociously on Dionyl."

<Random_Nerd> J: "With the use of Assembly, we can get a group of separate individuals to join together into a group without any having to overcome or be overcome."

<DanteE> (Kite, did you ever put a Miracle of Assembly here that they can use?)

<Random_Nerd> J: "This way, we can if needed assemble /any/ collection of the people, and if they have the proper skills and know what they are expected to do, they can work together almost immediately."

<Dionyl-Kite> (I forget.)

<Random_Nerd> (He did several, I believe. What did you specifically have in mind?)

<Random_Nerd> (Although... huh. How's your Persona?)

<Dionyl-Kite> (Not impressive)

<DanteE> (something they could tap into to assemble teams and/or the temple)

<Random_Nerd> (Because an Enchantment of Assembly could allow specific Dionyl the ability to bring things together.)

<DanteE> (maybe it could be a holy relic they can use)

<Dionyl-Kite> (which level would that be?)

<Random_Nerd> J: "We're sending messengers to Ymera Ceasar's... technically, fiefdom rather than chancel, to demonstrate the advantages of the Assembly method of organizing worshippers."

<Random_Nerd> (Four, I believe. Let me check.)

<Random_Nerd> (Yes, four.)

<Random_Nerd> (So... let's see, what are the Properties of Assembly.)

<Random_Nerd> (Hmm.)

<DanteE> (it would probably help your cult's image if your priests could do amazing stuff with the Staff of Kite. :) )

<Random_Nerd> (Okay, you can't extend it here directly with it, but you can do other things.)

<Random_Nerd> (For instance, you could Sacrifice on the mechanical lab, and make it so that assembly doesn't take different components.)

<Random_Nerd> J: "Because, I think our method is, frankly, better. You can't count on the same person having both the personality projection of... say, the Spear, and the military knowledge and expertise to accomplish things."

<Random_Nerd> J: "This way, /your/ way, they can be joined together in a shared cause and set of principles, without having to be absorbed into an organic unit."

<Random_Nerd> J: "What do you think, Lord Chytosideron?"

<Dionyl-Kite> "Jonathan, you are wonderful!"

<Random_Nerd> J: "Much of the idea here came from Gilbert. I merely... worked out many of the details."

<Dionyl-Kite> "Has this, in practice, had any conflicts with Domination or Shattering?"

<Random_Nerd> J: "Well, those are not, as such, Estates. They're factions."

<Random_Nerd> J: "And we've chosen to position this as a specialized form of Domination that's useful for certain types of work."

<Random_Nerd> J: "That, and to demonstrate the utility of it."

<Random_Nerd> J: "Then, when the idea has gotten out, we can call more attention to the subtler aspects of it."

<Dionyl-Kite> "Good, good."

<DanteE> (considering Assembly is basically anti-Splintering, is that going to cause a problem?)

<Random_Nerd> J: "That's why we're trying to get Caesar to look at it while you're here. He's enough of an outsider, and he's still forming his organizational structures."

<Random_Nerd> J: "Thus, we may be able to get him to try this, and he's... considered strange and dangerous, but his opinions on the leading of groups of people are taken very seriously by those in the region."

<Random_Nerd> (Really, it's contrary to both Splintering and Domination.)

<Random_Nerd> (It gets people working together, but without changing how they see the world, just with how they interact with those around them.)

<Theresa> "Have the negotiations gone well?"

<Random_Nerd> There's a strange sound outside, like a giant bird flapping its wings.

<Dionyl-Kite> (For some reason, I think I recall that we wanted to avoid Caesar this trip, but I don't know why....)

  • Dionyl-Kite turns to look.

<Random_Nerd> (You didn't want to be seen around controversial figures while your own reputation is unstable?)

<Random_Nerd> There's a sound that is almost exactly like a giant bird with steel claws landing immediately outside the doors of the temple.

  • DanteE check out the sound...

<Random_Nerd> And then a sound like someone very heavy in leather sandals walking on the brick floors of the corridor you are in.

<Dionyl-Kite> (I don't think we were going to be able to avoid that....)

<Random_Nerd> And then Caesar walks in. I mean, in theory it /could/ be just any ten-foot-tall Dionyl in archaic military gear, with a wreath of olive leaves on his head. In theory.

<DanteE> (yeah, you run into 6 or 7 of those every block.)

<Random_Nerd> Caesar, to Kite: "Normally, of course, I would not visit in person, for fear of being seen as trying to overwhelm the vision of your followers. But as you are here to support them, and I have been invited, here I am."

<Dionyl-Kite> "Greetings, Lord Caesar!" *bow*

<Random_Nerd> Caesar: "Greetings, my cousin Lord Chytosideron."

<DanteE> (cousin?)

<Dionyl-Kite> "Cousin, Lord Caesar?

<Random_Nerd> Caesar: "While your principality is smaller than my own, I recognize your rule of it as legitimate, and so address you with the respect due another Prince."

<Dionyl-Kite> "Oh! Thank you, sir!"

<Random_Nerd> Caesar: "You, like I, lead a principality in the Brass Plains."

<Random_Nerd> Caesar: "Now, I have been told by your priesthood that there are certain specialized methods of group management, dependent on your alien Estate, that would provide me an advantage in leading my followers."

<Random_Nerd> Caesar: "I am already impressed by the physical objects your followers have produced, the mail and laminar armor. Thus, I have come to see this new method you have brought to this region."

<DanteE> (do we really want to help him raise whatever he's raising?)

<Random_Nerd> (Do you?)

<Random_Nerd> Jonathan, to Kite: "With permission, Lord?"

<Dionyl-Kite> "Yes, Jonathan."

<Random_Nerd> Jonathan explains to Caeasar, in much the same details as we have already covered, how this method works.

<DanteE> (I kinda suspect he may still have Outside ties... depending on what exactly happened on Breach Day.)

<Random_Nerd> He talks about the advantages in flexibility when the individual members of a group serve, not because they have been overcome by strength or charisma, but because each understands that he has a particular role within a larger system.

<Random_Nerd> He explains the idea of a chain of command that is based on position and rank, rather than solely on personal authority and impressiveness.

<Theresa> (I think we should help him.)

<Random_Nerd> Caesar listens, curiously, and watches the group training down in the gym.

<Random_Nerd> Caesar, to Kite: "And this method requires your personal presence to function properly, my cousin?"

<Theresa> (Hey guys, I'm sorry but a headache I've been having is heading toward Migraineville. I'm going to have to go to bed. Sorry.  :( )

<DanteE> (we've asked him about what happened on that day, right?)

<DanteE> (aw, sorry Beth)

<Random_Nerd> (He's told you all he knows.)

<Dionyl-Kite> "On Dionyl, yes."

|<-- Theresa has left irc2.magicstar.net (Disintegrated: All shall love me and despair?)

<Dionyl-Kite> "Though I hope to remedy this."

<DanteE> (which is damn near nothing, right?)

<Random_Nerd> Caesar: "Hmm. So, if I were to send you a group of troops to bring to Earth, to be trained there, they could function in this manner when brought back here?"

<Random_Nerd> (Pretty much. He remembers both being Sakaroth and being Suebi, and how the latter killed the former.)

<Random_Nerd> (He doesn't know how he came to be standing in that place in the Brass Plains, near where he has formed his citystate.)

<Dionyl-Kite> "More or less."

<Random_Nerd> (And he has decided that he is neither of those two figures, but instead regards them as his parents and himself as having been born when he appeared in Creation.)

<DanteE> (did we look over the spot?)

<Random_Nerd> Caesar: "But it isn't just a matter of being on Earth, it requires special knowledge of how to form these structures?"

<Random_Nerd> Jonathan: "Yes, Lord Caesar. It took humans many centuries to develop the knowledge of how to do this properly, and it is an area of knowledge that is under continual refinement among them."

<Random_Nerd> (I... /believe/ that you determined through research that it was the spot of the Breakthrough that led to the battle between Sakaroth and Suebi.)

<DanteE> "There are examples of Assembly all over Earth. It's how we create our dwellings and structures."

<Random_Nerd> Jonathan: "Yes, but there is a difference between a skin hut, and a modern building."

<Random_Nerd> J: "To do this properly, one requires both access to Lord Chytosideron's Estate, and also to the relevant knowledge."

<Dionyl-Kite> (Ftisk, do we have armies in Locus Vulcan?)

<Random_Nerd> Sam, to Kite: "Does Locus Vulcan have a modernized military?"

<Random_Nerd> (It's up to you two whether it does.)

<DanteE> (It's _Vulcan_. You probably have everything from jeeps to Evas)

<Random_Nerd> (Yes, I would be zero percent shocked if you did.)

<Dionyl-Kite> (My vote is that the Chancel is more focused on artifacts and invention, so if we have a military, it's robotic)

<Random_Nerd> (Angelo, what do you think?)

<Random_Nerd> (Now, of course, we have already established that Amyra has modern armed forces.)

<Random_Nerd> Caesar, to Kite: "I propose a trade. I will give into your keeping... shall we say, twenty of my loyal followers, led by a veteran leader, to be trained in this method of group cohesion."

<Random_Nerd> "In return, I offer to train a similar number of your followers in arts of war, such as management of weapons and use of terrain, that they are not familiar with in any depth."

<Random_Nerd> Caesar: "Is this acceptable?"

<Dionyl-Kite> "I believe so, Lord Caesar."

<Random_Nerd> Dionyl: "Very well. I will return to my domain to select my followers, you may select yours, and I will meet you here at my domain in a week's time."

<Dionyl-Kite> "Yes, sir!"

<Random_Nerd> He salutes Kite, and then strides out.

<Random_Nerd> Jonathan: "Was... this act of mine, in calling him here, acceptable to you, Lord?"

  • Dionyl-Kite figures out a way to salute back as a dionyl.

<Dionyl-Kite> "Yes, Jonathan."

<Random_Nerd> (Mind if we call it a night here, since we're now down two players?)

<DanteE> (scuse the in attention, another phone poll)

<Dionyl-Kite> (works for me.)

<DanteE> (OK.)

<Random_Nerd> _______________STOP___________________

<Dionyl-Kite> I assume we'll do the interviews for who trains under Caesar off-screen.

<Random_Nerd> Yeah.

<DanteE> That'll work.

=-= Dionyl-Kite is now known as Verithe

<Random_Nerd> Unless you would prefer otherwise.

=-= DanteE is now known as Knockwood

<Verithe> For a selection of twenty NPCs, off-screen is optimal.

<Random_Nerd> Indeed.

<Random_Nerd> So, what did you think of how your cult is doing?

<Knockwood> Maybe just a list?

<Random_Nerd> Or you could give some selective criteria, if you want.

<Knockwood> Dionyl, right?

<Random_Nerd> Presumably, if they're to come from Kite's cult.

<Verithe> I think Kite wants willing volunteers for the selection.

<Knockwood> Aren't they Caesar's?

<Verithe> Not these ones.

<Random_Nerd> Well, the deal is, he brings twenty-one of his to be trained by Kite, Kite brings 21 of /his/, they train, they compare notes.

<Verithe> Caesar is sending some to train on Earth and Kite is sending some of his cult to train under Caesar.

<Knockwood> Having the cult members train on Earth might help as well

<Random_Nerd> That is true.

<Knockwood> Then again, what's the effect of untrained Dionyl seeing Earth?

<Random_Nerd> It's very unpleasant at first, especially if they're undisciplined.

<Random_Nerd> Feels like being constantly overcome by the worldsight of one so strong that he can dictate all details of how you see the world.

<Random_Nerd> Also, they default to the Mythic.

<Random_Nerd> At least, most of them.

<Knockwood> Hm... That would turn Dionyl away from Domination, wouldn't it

<Random_Nerd> Some from particularly Prosaic-like citystates may tend towards Prosaic.

<Random_Nerd> To some extent, yeah.

<Random_Nerd> On Earth, Domination and Splintering make no sense.

<Random_Nerd> It's like asking a Martian if he's a Catholic or a Hugenot.

<Knockwood> are we prepared to deal with the fallout?

<Random_Nerd> Are you ever?

<Verithe> Hahahahahaha!

<Knockwood> Good point

<Random_Nerd> Anyway, I'm going to log out and go see how Beth's doing.

<Knockwood> There will probably be a future chapter called "The Fallout"

<Random_Nerd> See you guys next week for Chuubo.

<Knockwood> Good night RN

<Verithe> Take care!

<Random_Nerd> G'night.

|<-- Random_Nerd has left irc2.magicstar.net (Disintegrated: )

<Knockwood> I really hope I can get my desktop working properly...

<Verithe> :(

<Etheric> That was entertaining, you guys. Thanks for letting me watch.

<Verithe> No prob, Eth!

<Knockwood> Well, I'm doing this on my iPad, so I do have an option.

<Knockwood> ...it was? :p

<Etheric> It was. I'm switching back and forth from rereading the GWB, though, so the slow pace isn't as annoying as it would be if I were trying to play.

<Etheric> Anyhow, I'm potentially coming back to play in November, but no idea when or if I'll be stopping by to watch before then. Good to see you guys again.

<Knockwood> Ah, you know we've switched to 3rd edition, right?

<Etheric> Yes, I do. I don't have a paper copy of the third edition though.

<Knockwood> Neither do I, actually. I have it on this iPad.

<Etheric> And I wanted to reread the margin blurb about aquatic essence in the personality, or something like that. In order to find it, though, I ended up rereading the whole book.

<Knockwood> Ah yeah. :)

<Etheric> It's not the sort of book you can look at and then look away. That's also why I've had major problems wrapping my head around third edition.

<Etheric> I read the rules and then my head is trying to imagine Mythic Reality instead of considering how this would work in practice.

<Knockwood> I've actually got versions from before and after the art debacle

<Etheric> Ah, really? You have the version with the retraced Touhou art?

<Knockwood> Ayep

<Verithe> There were other things that were traced too....

<Etheric> I'm not asking to see it or anything, but how "anime" is it? More so than the art that remained in the book?

<Knockwood> Very anime.

<Knockwood> Bishonen and willowy girls barely holding swords, that kind of thing.

<Etheric> Heh, sounds like it.

<Etheric> That vaguely reminds me of the complaining on the Nobilis listserv about Lord Entropy and Ananda being drawn as bishounen.

<Etheric> One guy said something like, "I resent that this establishes that bishounen exist in the Nobilis setting." Which is kind of a weird conclusion to draw, I thought at the time.

<Knockwood> I think the new art is generally better. And not just because Verithe did some of it.

<Etheric> Verithe did? That's amazing!

<Verithe> Yes.

<Knockwood> I figure people would look at it and figure it was an anime game.

<Etheric> Well, good job! I really like the artwork in third edition.

<Knockwood> Which ones did you do again?

<Verithe> I did the chibi-Serpent, Jenny Merrow, Orderic Neustry (sp?), a chibi-version of a Noble whose name I forget locked in battle with a telepede....

<Knockwood> Oh, that little comma-shaped chibi-serpent? I thought that one got wiped.

<Verithe> ...the historic sign and the serious-wound illustration.

<Verithe> The replacement for the comma-serpent.

<Knockwood> Oh yeah, the tracer did that.

<Etheric> Is your serpent the one on page 29 of the PDF?

<Etheric> Huge black eye and kind of sparkly?

<Verithe> Pages 13, 27, 233, 284, 315 and 326 (+2 for PDF)

<Verithe> Yes.

<Etheric> :D I'm in awe, man.

<Verithe> Thank you. :)

<Knockwood> Yeah, they had to replace over 60 illos on short notice. I think the book's a lot better for it.

<Verithe> I did two of the illustrations before that, though

<Knockwood> Well, I'll head out, I think. See you next week, hopefully more on time and lucid.

<Verithe> Take care!

<Verithe> I'm heading out as well.

Chapter 34
