March 15[edit]

Henrik, Roxanne, Carl, Gillian (sp?), Boris, Rebecca, and Terrence (sp?) arrive in New York City after a pleasant, uneventful sea cruise. Henrik and Rebecca are dismayed when they learn that they are going to have to stop dressing like slobs for much of their stay.

They meet up with Redland, who, fresh from his encounter with the Dark Pharaoh is aglow with evil... or pale and weak with hunger, something along those lines. Redland blathers on about some information he's found relating to Pentheus and the Fae. Further details can be found at:

The Spot Where this Tempting Link Leads (located under Dry Notes...)[edit]

Redland shows the group a 'ruby' he received from the Dark Pharaoh. It is somewhat 'alive,' but it doesn't appear terribly significant to the more magical members.

Redland also mentions that he has set up a meeting with Pentheus the next day at 10:00 A.M. This irritates Carl who would have preferred to investigate before talking with anyone.

Henrik and Rebecca decide to go out looking for a building they had seen in a drawing associated with Cecil Becker, but they come up empty.

March 16[edit]

Carl checks in with some of the managers of his company attempting to find out what Pentheus has been up to in regards to their land acquisitions. He is particularly interested to see if they have any specific interest in land associated with certain ley patterns. However, it appears that they are just generally gathering land, without regard to mystical matters.

Henrik, Rebecca, Carl, and Redland go to the meeting with Pentheus. Boris completely distrusts Pentheus and refuses to waste his time (and try his patience) meeting with them. There are, I believe, seven people at the meeting, whose names and roles I wrote down... somewhere that I can't find now. A Mr. Dellman is the most equal of the group of equals (though Boris later will indicate that he thinks Dellman is a mere pawn).

A discussion ensues, in which Carl (and company) play it pretty close to the vest. Dellman discusses Pentheus's plans to attract and contain Outsiders. He estimates that 8-35% of the world's population will likely be consumed in the plan. He is pressed as to whether the people will be drawn disproportionately from certain parts of the world, but it is indicated that the people will likely be taken from places near natural incursion sites.

Carl pushes for information regarding the mathematical models Pentheus is using, but Dellman refuses to discuss these, citing trade secrets.

Redland inquires as to whether there is anything the KoL and company can do to assist Pentheus. This topic largely dies on the vine, as neither side is particularly interested in teaming up at this point. However, a 'field test' is mentioned, in which a living, voluntary sacrifice will be used in a containment test. Henrik is interested in talking to this sacrifice, and Dellman seems amenable. There is some indication that Pentheus will allow the group to witness the sacrifice if Carl and co. will give them feedback. Carl agrees to think about it.

Henrik swaps leyline maps with Pentheus and Carl is given a tour of some of the machines that Pentheus has developed.

After meeting with Pentheus, everyone heads back to the hotel to discuss what they'd learned. Essentially, everyone is confirmed in the beliefs they had going in. Namely, Redland seems gung ho in favor of aligning with them, Henrik and Carl are very wary, but willing to tentatively explore minor relations with the group (if only to figure out how to destroy them more thoroughly), and Boris distrusts them completely and wants to see them destroyed utterly. He becomes furious with Redland for what he considers Redland's boneheaded naivete in believing the lies of Pentheus.

Carl makes plans to visit Medea and Dr. Parkhurst in Los Angeles. It is unclear what Boris, Henrik, and Redland are going to do.
