An Entry of the Investigations_of_Arbiter_Haxtes

Briefing[edit]

"I have received disturbing reports of warp-related terrorism from Sepheriss Secundus. A terrorist identified as Assod Morrir leads a group known as the Broken Chains. He wears a silvered mask with no identifying features, and has proclaimed himself the "Faceless One". We have a prisoner in the Tricorn Palace, the former Baron Ulbrexis, who has fought and supposedly killed Morrir in the past.

"Convince Ulbrexis to help you, then investigate the warp terrorism and determine a course of action for when I arrive a month or so after you. You are being granted the use of an Inquisitorial rosette for this mission, but do not use it unless absolutely necessary."

-Your Inquisitor

Events[edit]

Arbitrator Haxtes acquired the assistance of the former Baron Ulbrexis by promising him control of Sepheris Secundus, and giving him the chance at revenge against Morrir. The two then transferred to Sepheris Secundus aboard a rogue trader transport ship commanded by ____________. The captain had a long connection to Haxtes' Inquisitor, and had run into the Serrated Query in the past.

Once he landed, he was introduced to the Arbitrator in charge of the investigation into the Harrow, and his second-in-command. The Arbites have collected a large map of all currently known activity of the Broken Chains, and Ulbrexis has just located what appears to be a pattern in the disruptions: an old, central base of the Broken Chains is at the center of the disruptions. The destruction caused by the Broken Chains' bombs have not disrupted the underground passageways that the Broken Chains relied on.

The Arbitrators are aware that Haxtes is an acolyte of the Inquisition, but have advised him not to communicate that knowledge to the local government or law enforcement (known as the Scourges on Sepheres Secundus, and according to the Arbitrators are little better than thugs).
