The Imperial Academy of Science and Medicine
The Imperial Academy of Science and Medicine is the premier University across the Spinward Marches and the entire Domain of Deneb. It's peer reviewed journals are at the forefront of advances in science and it is the backbone of membership in the the Imperial Science Union.
Studying at the academy comes in three forms:
-Taking on an undergraduate or graduate degree at the academy. These positions are fought for highly and are available only to those with Soc and Edu of 9+. Soc 10+ guarantees placement if the Edu requirements are met. Post Graduate studies may be attempted by anyone who qualifies.
-It is an institution amongst retiring officers of more research/technical bent to request a transfer to the Academy for a term before retiring.
-Taking on a position as a Fellow of the Academy, engaging in teaching and field research. This is a full time career.
The Imperial Science Union is an independent body of scientific research, standards and review. Membership is extended similarly to the Traveller Aid Society, but is restricted to those famous in one field of science or another (Skill lvl 4+). It will have facilities at any high tech world with an A or B class Starport and a pop of 7+.
