Calypso Stave, the Marchessa of LSD

No more than a harmless hippy girl. (Yeah, right!)

Wide, un-focussed eyes, seemingly dazed, dressed in a palette of bright colors or else like a backpacker, festooned with oddments of jewelry, with long blonde dreads, hazel eyes. Pretty and just a bit dirty. Dazzlingly warm smile.

Attributes[edit]

Aspect[edit]

Metahuman 1/5 Aspect Miracle Points

As a mortal, Calypso remained at peace with the limitations of your physical and mental existence. However, the Power of LSD encouraged her to go forward, to go beyond. Still, she does not like to show off.

I have 1 Aspect. That means I perform Level 1 and under Miracles for 0 MP. I perform Level 2 Miracles for 1 MP, I perform Level 3 Miracles for 2 MP, I perform level 4 or 5 Miracles for 4 Miracle Points and I can perform level 6 through Level 9 Miracles as a Word of Command which costs 8 MP.

Domain[edit]

Marchessa 3/5 Domain Miracle Points

Her Estate agreed with her and continues to do so. It permeates her existence and they work well together. She has only gotten enNobled recently, though in Celestial time.

I have 3 Domain. That means I perform Level 3 and under Miracles for 0 MP. I perform Level 4 Miracles for 1 MP, I perform Level 5 Miracles for 2 MP, I perform level 6 or 7 Miracles for 4 Miracle Points and I can perform level 8 through Level 9 Miracles as a Word of Command which costs 8 MP.

Realm[edit]

Radiant 1/5 Realm Miracle Points

She considered the world her home, rather than any one fixed place. Still, she felt glad to have a fantastical place, as fantastical as her imagination, in which to dwell and took to it, even if she would not spend much time there.

I have 1 Domain. That means I perform Level 1 and under Miracles for 0 MP. I perform Level 2 Miracles for 1 MP, I perform Level 3 Miracles for 2 MP, I perform level 5 or 6 Miracles for 4 Miracle Points and I can perform level 8 through Level 9 Miracles as a Word of Command which costs 8 MP.

Spirit[edit]

Sunfire 3/5 Spirit Miracle Points

Despite the feckless and reckless face she shows the worlds, Calypso had a resilient will. Willpower alone saved her when given LSD+ and sustains her now. She does not draw on it consciously though and has a tendency towards laxness, not having developed what reserves she has.

I have 3 Spirit.

Gifts[edit]

Charismatic (1 MPs)[edit]

You can’t but help like Calypso and pretty much everyone does excepting powerful beings like other Nobles, Excrucians and Imperators and people who know she has lied to or harmed her. (Works like Glorious, except a less powerful Gift.)

Handicaps[edit]

Flaws[edit]

Distractable (1 MP)[edit]

Calypso can get pretty scatterbrained at times.

Memorable (1 MP)[edit]

Once met, never forgotten.

Affiliation[edit]

The Code of the Wild

1. Freedom is the highest principle.
2. Sanity and mundanity are prisons.
3. Give in kind with a gift received.

Calypso considered the modern, mechanized world a penance on the human spirit and anarchy her most perfect natural condition. At the same time, she believed in recompense and gratitude.

Virtue[edit]

Ungovernable: Calypso submits to no law but her own.

As stated above, she believes in sweet anarchy and self-determination. It gives Calypso the following powers:

1. No one can use authority to persuade her.
2. Magical geases have no power over her.
3. When ordered to do so, she can lie just as convincingly as tell the truth.
4. Her mere presence encourages others to break the law.

Bonds[edit]

  • 4 Her Estate
  • 4 Her worldwide extended family of friends and acquaintances
  • 3 Psychedelics generally
  • 3 Hatred of authority
  • 3 Her familia
  • 2 Her Imperator
  • 1 Dance music

Anchors[edit]

None as yet.

History[edit]

During the late 1990's, by mortal reckoning, a special variant on LSD-25, called LSD-25+ (street name: Plus) circulated all over the Earth. Plus ripped apart the minds of everyone who took it or caused fatal overdoses. Because of this, Plus acquired the darkest of reputations. No sane person would have taken it. (Of course, no one would have stayed sane for long, under the influence of Plus.) So of course Calypso did. The Imperator had decided to enNoble the only person fool enough to take Plus and strong enough of spirit to have survived it. Calypso still brags of undergoing Commencement while tripping heavily, as if Commencement itself would not have expanded consciousness enough.

Calypso sees The Wicker Man (the original version) and sees it as a model for living. (The Power of Cult Movies got nettled when the remake came out, by the way. Calypso might well do something about it, though she has not yet gotten around to doing it. So much else to do...) She consorts with fairies, because fairies are cool. She looks forward to and contributes to the collapse of shopping mall America. She hands out free tabs a lot though, making sure it stays free of additives which some dealers will add in.

Currently, she acts as a guardian to the most faithful and diligent prophets of LSD. She does not work towards legalizing LSD in the US or anywhere else, because by the time everyone on Earth drops acid, no rules will remain to stop them from doing it. No rules at all, anywhere.

Personality[edit]

Calypso appears the opposite of a firebrand, turned this way and that by vagrant thought processes and devolving into baroque tangents and mental cul-de-sacs. She does not fake her sweetness. At the same time, she does not fake her savagery, either random and inexplicable (except to herself) or motivated by some threat to herself, her Estate or to her friends and allies.

Design[edit]

A ring of Heavenly Blue Morning Glory and Hawaiian Baby Woodrose seeds (both containing LSA, a chemical related to LSD), surrounding a three-fold design of a white violet (symbolically, “let’s take a chance”), purple carnation (capriciousness and whimsy) and a red poppy (pleasure and oblivion) against a swirling psychedelic background.
