The Pooka Shapechanging birthright seemed a little vague on how large, powerful, or otherwise capable an animal might be allowed under it's perview. The information below is intended to help clarify that.

Shapechanging[edit]

It's assumed that all a Pooka's Attributes and qualities stay the same between her humanoid and animal forms except the physical ones. When determining the capabilities of a Pooka's animal form use the following steps:

  1. Follow character creation steps 1-5 as specified on p.116-119 of the Changeling core book.
  2. Add all the character's physical Attribute dots together. Multiply this total by 5. This gives you the base number of base "animal points" with which to build the Pooka's animal form.
  3. Trade in freebie points for animal points if desired. Each freebie point spent gains the character 2 animal points.
  4. Spend animal points to purchase physical Attributes for the Pooka's animal form. Merits or flaws which only apply to the character's animal form may also be purchased at this stage using animal points.
  5. Continue on to steps 6-10 of standard character creation. Any Merits purchased which only affect the human body only cost half as many Freebie points. Any Flaws taken which only affect the human body only provide half as many Freebie points. Flaws or Merits which would affect both forms cost as much as they normally would.
  6. When gaining physical Attribute dots at a later time each dot costs half as much as it normally would, but applies only to one form or the other. Also certain animal forms will be able to exceed 5 dots while the same character's humanoid form will not be able to.
