Knacks[edit]

Alluring Beastman Transformation[edit]

  • Prerequisites: Essence 2, Appearance 3
  • Like its better-known cousin the Deadly Beastman Transformation, this Knack represents a blending of a Lunar's human and animal true forms. Unlike the other, it is intended not for battle, but for seduction and socializing, and so in this form, the Steward remains human in stature, becoming sleek, beautiful, and charming.
    • Bonus Attributes. While in the Alluring Beastman Transformation, the Lunar adds one dot to her Charisma, Manipulation, and Appearance. This increase can bring a character’s social Attributes above five and only affect the character when she is in this form. Any improved Attributes are considered natural when calculating the Lunar’s dice maximums.
    • Wyld Mutations. As the character's animal and human natures blend, she takes on animalistic features reminiscent of her spirit shape, represented by (Essence +4) points of mutations. Ignore any negative effects of such mutations that would make the ABT form monstrous or disturbing. If the nature of the mutation is itself monstrous or disturbing, it is probably not appropriate for the Knack. In light of the relative dearth of mutations that aid in social situations, the special bonus points granted by this Knack may be used to purchase Ability and Attribute specialties relating to social combat which only function while the Lunar is in the ABT form.
  • In addition to allowing the use of Gift effects, Alluring Beastman Transformation makes the Steward more mentally resilient. When subject to mental influence, the Steward may pay 3m per point of Willpower that would otherwise be required to resist it. In the case of unnatural mental influence, this still causes her to gain a point of Limit.

Sensuous Nymph Enhancement[edit]

  • Prerequisites: Alluring Beastman Transformation, Essence 5, Charisma 4
  • Taking this Knack increases the incredible beauty and charm of the character's ABT. When wearing the ABT form, her her social Attributes increase by one additional dot each, on top of the dot granted by ABT.

Cunning Beastman Transformation[edit]

  • Prerequisites: Essence 2, Wits 3
  • This Knack represents a blending of a Lunar's human and animal true forms intended to aid in the application of quick, incisive thought.
    • Bonus Attributes. While in the Cunning Beastman Transformation, the Lunar adds one dot to her Perception, Wits, and Intelligence. This increase can bring a character’s mental Attributes above five and only affect the character when she is in this form. Any improved Attributes are considered natural when calculating the Lunar’s dice maximums.
    • Wyld Mutations. As the character's animal and human natures blend, she takes on animalistic features reminiscent of her spirit shape, represented by (Essence +4) points of mutations. Ignore any negative effects of such mutations except those that would make the CBT form monstrous or disturbing; wisdom and cunning come in many shapes. In light of the relative dearth of mutations that aid in mental situations, the special bonus points granted by this Knack may be used to purchase Ability and Attribute specialties relating to mental activities which only function while the Lunar is in the CBT form.
  • In addition to allowing the use of Gift effects, Cunning Beastman Transformation speeds the Lunar's thought processes incredibly. While in the Cunning Beastman Transformation, she may reflexively pay 1 mote to substitute one of her mental Attribues for any other Attribute for all purposes for a single action.

Devious Sphinx Enhancement[edit]

  • Prerequisites: Cunning Beastman Transformation, Essence 5, Intelligence 4
  • Taking this Knack increases the keen senses and cunning of the character's CBT. When wearing the CBT form, her her mental Attributes increase by one additional dot each, on top of the dot granted by CBT.

Beast-Power Concentration[edit]

  • Prerequisites: Alluring, Cunning, or Deadly Beastman Transformation, Essence 2, Appearance 3
  • Certain Stewards, whether due to vanity or subtlety, prefer to enter battle without outwardly displaying the beast within. This Knack assists in such endeavors, refining the Lunar's Essence until she is able to concentrate the power of her Beastman Transformations into her human form. This Knack modifies the character's war form and other hybrid forms, allowing her to activate that form while retaining her natural human shape, if desired. While using Beast-Power Concentration, the Lunar enjoys the benefits of her Beastman Transformation's Bonus Attributes, use of Gift Charms, and other powers, but does not manifest any of that Form's mutations. The Lunar's Tell becomes more prominent while this power is active, reducing the base MDV needed to see it to 8.

Wrathful Silver Thew Enhancement[edit]

  • Prerequisite Charms: Impressions of Strength
  • This Charm permanently upgrades the Fury-OK function of Impressions of Strength, allowing the Lunar to add a further 2 motes and activate a second edge when using Impressions of Strength in conjunction with Relentless Lunar Fury. At Essence 5, he may pay an additional 2 motes and activate a third edge (adding a total of 6 motes to the cost of Relentless Lunar Fury). However many edges the Steward chooses to activate, Impressions of Strength still only counts as a single Charm when determining how many Fury-OK Charms he is allowed to have active at a time. A Steward may never have more than 2 invocations of the same edge active at the same time.

  • Prerequisite Charms: Fish or Fowl Gestation
  • In the fallen times of the Age of Sorrows, the Stewards could not always afford to leave behind offspring that shine with a reflection of their light. Activating this Charm at the moment of conception (or attempted conception, in the case of Lunars wearing male forms), the Steward momentarily dims the power of her own Essence, ensuring that any resultant children will not be Lunar Half-Castes.
