Solar Charms[edit]

Integrity[edit]

Sunlight Banishes the Void's Wrath[edit]

  • Cost: 2m, variable wp+; Mins: Integrity 5, Essence 5; Type: Simple (Dramatic Action) or Reflexive
  • Keywords: Avatar (3), Holy
  • Duration: Instant
  • Prerequisite Charms: Transcendent Hero's Meditation
  • By spending an hour meditating in the sun's light and filling himself with its purifying Essence, a Lawgiver who has been tainted by the touch of the Neverborn can cleanse himself of their corruption - for a time, at least. He spends 2m and may then spend points of temporary Willpower to reduce his Resonance total by 1 for each wp spent without causing a Resonance eruption.
  • He can also activate this Charm reflexively for 2m in order to vent his accumulated Resonance as a Resonance eruption under his control - he chooses how many points of Resonance to vent, and how they manifest themselves.

Sun and Moon Deny the Depths of Madness[edit]

  • Cost: 5m; Mins: Integrity 4, Essence 3; Type: Reflexive
  • Keywords: None
  • Duration: Indefinite
  • Prerequisite Charms: Truth Shines Through
  • When the Sun and Moon are in harmony, naught can hold them or stand against them, not even the Great Curse. Activating this Charm, the Solar reinforces her Lunar Bond with her essence, expanding its capabilities.
  • While this Charm is active, the Lunar and the Solar may spend dice from the pool granted by their respective Bond backgrounds to resist unnatural mental influence without gaining Limit, with one die being equivalent to 1wp. Dice can also be spent when gaining Limit by suppressing one's primary virtue, reducing the Limit gained by 1 point per die spent, to a minimum of 1 Limit.
  • Furthermore, whenever either the Solar or her Lunar mate undergoes a Limit Break, they receive the benefits of an uncontrolled Limit Break even if they exercise the Partial Control option, and either bondmate may choose to participate in the other's Limit Break, reducing their current Limit by 5. If this would reduce their Limit to zero, his Willpower is restored as if they themselves had undergone an uncontrolled Limit Break.
  • If the Great Curse has been cured, this Charm grants the Solar and his Lunar mate the ability to reduce their Limit by spending dice from their bond pools, again at a rate of 1 die per point of Limit.

Be Thou For The People[edit]

  • Cost: --; Mins: Integrity 3, Essence 3; Type: Permanent
  • Keywords: None
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Prerequisite Charms: Unhesitating Dedication
  • The Solar Exalted are the Lawgivers, the holders of the Creation-Ruling Mandate. To rule over and provide for their lessers is their right, their privilege, and also their solemn duty, and there are those who pursue their role as ruler, champion, protector, and advocate with the utmost dedication. Whenever a Solar who knows this Charm would be able to channel his Compassion to aid an action in pursuit of the well-being of those who must bow to his righteous authority, he may channel his Conviction instead. However, the Solar also feels compelled to take such actions and must suppress his Conviction in order not to take them, as per the normal rules for having a highly rated Virtue. Suppressing his Conviction in this way causes the Solar to forfeit the benefits of this Charm for the rest of the scene.
  • Beings considered to be under the Solar's authority for the purposes of this Charm include mortals, Terrestrial Exalted, Terrestrial gods, elementals, and other Celestial Exalted with a lower permanent Essence than his own. Beings never considered to be under a Solar's authority for the purposes of this Charm include Creatures of Darkness, Fair Folk, Celestial Gods, Primordials, their Third and Second Circle souls, and Celestial Exalts with a higher permanent Essence.

Incomparable Wellspring of Strength[edit]

  • Cost: --; Mins: Integrity 3, Essence 3; Type: Permanent
  • Keywords: None
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Prerequisite Charms: Unhesitating Dedication
  • The Solars know well the strength of love. It was the Sun's love for humanity that spurred him to rebel against the Primordials, and that gave him the strength to resist their tortures. Inspired by the example of their patron, a Solar who knows this Charm takes strength from the love in his soul, allowing him to channel his Compassion in place of his Conviction whenever he takes an action to resist hardship or torture when doing so would support the wellbeing of others. He also rolls his Compassion instead of his Conviction to regain Willpower every morning, and substitutes his Compassion for his Conviction when determining how easily his Intimacies can be eroded. However, he must also suppress Compassion in order to abandon a committed cause, give up in the face of hardship or suffering, or abandon companions in their time of need. Suppressing his Compassion in this way causes the Solar to forfeit the benefits of this Charm for the rest of the scene.

Love Conquers Fear[edit]

  • Cost: --; Mins: Integrity 3, Essence 3; Type: Permanent
  • Keywords: None
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Prerequisite Charms: Unhesitating Dedication
  • The passions of the Lawgivers are mighty, and can trample fear and timidity into the dust. Whenever a Solar who knows this Charm would be able to channel his Valor to aid an action championing a person or ideal he possesses a positive Intimacy for, he may channel his Compassion instead. However, the Solar also feels compelled to respond when such things are challenged or insulted in his presence and must suppress his Compassion in order not to react to such things, as per the normal rules for having a highly rated Virtue. Suppressing his Compassion in this way causes the Solar to forfeit the benefits of this Charm for the rest of the scene.

To Thine Own Self Be True[edit]

  • Cost: --; Mins: Integrity 3, Essence 3; Type: Permanent
  • Keywords: None
  • Duration: Permanent
  • Prerequisite Charms: Unhesitating Dedication
  • The Lawgivers must be true to themselves; if they were not, they would not be Lawgivers. The Solar elevates his personal truth, and carefully considers the words of others. Substitute the Solar's Temperance for his Conviction when determining if mental influence goes against or is in line with his dominant Virtues, and when determining how many scenes of effort are required to build or erode Intimacies. However, he must also suppress Temperance in order to abandon a committed cause or give up in the face of hardship or suffering. Suppressing his Temperance in this way causes the Solar to forfeit the benefits of this Charm for the rest of the scene.
