Red Star Dervish was born and raised in the impoverished projects of
Godseye, one of the lesser districts of Zhen Shou City. She learned
the importance of carrying your own weight at an early age, working
in various sweatshops and factories to help her family make ends meet.
Dervish was raised in a large family with 14 siblings, only of which
3 (including her) were girls, so she's not particulary intimidated by
boys. She knows how to make her voice heard, even with thuggish louts.
As she grew older, Dervish began to flirt around with the different
gangs that were contantly running through Godseye, like filthy water
in the gutters.

...And, she saw her window. A way out of the sweatshops and the
factories, a way for her family to not having to bust their guts
every single day of the year just to get some decent food on the
table.

Dervish began to run with the Six Phantoms Consortium. The Six
Phantoms dabble mostly in bribery and blackmail, and Dervish proved
to have an unusually shrewd mind for such illicit activities. She
also had the ability to conduct herself in proper situations as well
as in the underworld, a skill that would be an enormous asset for the
Six Phantoms.

She became a liaison of sorts, a conduit for the SPC to have an eye
in to the world above the one of deals and steals. Dervish began to
do more and more face-work for the Six Phantoms, and soon she found
herself scouting for prospective recruits for the gang. And what
better place to recruit than at the local High School?
When the rivalry between the Jade Dragon and the Scarlet Tiger
Schools began in earnest, Dervish decided to go check out the new
kids on the block, the Black Crane School, and try to siphon out
whatever talent she could to the SPC before the Jade Dragon or the
Scarlet Tiger take them for themselves, or worse yet, get them killed!
Dervish is aware that she's made progress with the Six Phantoms
Consortium relatively rapidly, and she's hellbent upon proving
herself to keep up showing loyalty and furthering the gangs interest.
Having grown up with such a large family as she did, she knows what
it's like to be neglected by a father who favored his sons, and she
definitely doesn't want to go through the same thing with her
chosen "family".

Her loyalties might end up a bit more complicated than she first
thought though, having enrolled with the Black Crane...
