Virgil
Real name: Alec Moss

Virgil is in his mid-to-late twenties and stands at 5'10". With olive skin, medium length, scruffy brown hair and a neatly trimmed short beard and mustache, he is rarely seen without his trademark trilby and thick black rimmed glasses. He normally dresses in white shirts, overthrown with a dark jacket and comfortable trousers or jeans. He wears decent mens shoes from his days working in Engineering and tends to have an unlight cigerette tucked behind one ear. He tends to carry a Silver Lighter, heavily engraved with a variety of languages. He mostly seems far too cheery for a Moros, he seems to not take much at all seriously, but then he'd claim he's laughing in the face of death.

When Virgil uncloaks his Nimbus whispered voices in dead languages filled the air, singing dirges and laments. Images flicker behind him, with the rustling of pages and the noise of groaning machines, showing the river and the boatman.

History

  • Father passed away, Car Accident. Mother still alive. Has no siblings.
  • Went to University of Chicago on a scholarship majoring in Engineering, due to his childhood fascination with machines.
  • During his degree discovered he had a talent at drawing, both structural diagrams and a more natural artistic talent.
  • Graduated and went on to work on engineering diagram for several notable firms, including some machine design.
  • In the meantime became an amateur comicbook artist, self publishing a little of his work, two titles one called Kuiper and another called Charon.
  • As his talent progressed, work grew more frustrating with the limits of what he could design commercially. His comics started actually making money, being picked up by a small local indie publisher. At around this time, he starts painting more detailed pictures of the underworld that he had sketched in Charon.
  • Paintings and Sketches of Hades now fill his apartment. It is working on a panel of Charon taking place in the most detailed part of Hades he has ever tried to draw, when he awakens, falling into the panel and into the Styx. Drawn without fail, he avoids the spectres of the fields and climbs his watchtower. At the top he finds a pen, that is out of ink and carves his name alongside thousands of others into the Tower of Lead Coin.
  • Having been under observation for sometime due to the realistic depictions of Stygia in his work, he is easily recruited by the Pentacle and ends up in the Mysterium one of its members having bought his picture of the Pool of Mnemosyne at an auction some months ago.

Goals and Motivations

  • Continue to sketch and attempt to map the Supernal through his visions, memories and dreams. To spread them but not the Mysteries through the Fallen World in an attempt to bolster the ranks of the Awakened. And to protect them from the Mysteries they are not ready for.
  • To learn as much of the real history of the fallen world and recover and piece together what Mysteries he can.
  • To design and restore engines and items he could only dream of when he was an Engineer.
  • To integrate into magical society and gain friends amongst the Awakened.
