*The ironfolk city of Draea is to the north of Kimrid. Driven south from their ancestral homelands at the beginning of the last Cycle, and settling here, the ironfolk still tell tales of the fall of the great city of Isenden, and the horror that destroyed it in a single night. It was this nameless horror that caused the ironfolk to flee their home, and there are whispers from travelers that whatever lurks in the fallen city of Isenden is spreading.

*A great dragon, called Tlaskydar, has taken up residence in the ruins of Hanaid, a city that once housed a College of Magic before it was ruined. *The Bottomless Lake formed at the end of the war, where the Deres and Swift rivers met. Before that, the two joined and continued east, until they eventually reached the Deep Ocean and the Alabaster Principality. Now only a dry riverbed remains east of the Lake, and no one knows what happens to the immense amount of water that flows into the lake. There are reports of some unknown creature, or creatures, that dwell within the icy, deep waters of the Lake.

*The Ebony Blades, a band of brigands formed from the remnants of the Sable Principality house guard, have been raiding outlying settlements of late, although they have yet to attack Gifukrum.

*Thufiq is a member of House Raven. Once one of the royal families of Sable, it is now primarily a mercantile consortium. He advises the adventurers to seek out his sister, Hama, should they find themselves in Gifukrum.

*Thufiq warns the adventurers of the presence of a gang of thieves and pickpockets operating in Gifukrum. "Keep a tight hand on your coinpurses," he says, "and whatever you do, don't seek lodging at the Speckled Grouse, for it is owned by a ranking member, and unsuspecting guests find themselves robbed, or worse."
