Introduction to Prus

Life is not pleasant. It's not supposed to be pleasant, no one expects it to be pleasant, but even this doesn't make it any more pleasant. One can suppose there are worlds where life is not just a battle for survival, but alas this one is not such a world. This world is of a hunter-prey variety. The small get by by hiding, sneaking and deceiving, and the big... are big. But one should not make haste and envy a hunters' life. Whoever wished he could trade places with an orc?

But some always seek to change the established ways. To make a stand and show their teeth to those who would break them. The joint hobbit and mousling alliance of Mal'rock seem to be doing a pretty good job of it. For 50 years the tree-island colony prospers. At least that's what the tales say. Only a fool believes what a bard says. Maybe they are fools, maybe they are desperate, maybe they are brave or adventurous, but some folk see Mal'rock as a place that's worth the risk. They travel there from all around Prus to be a part of this civilized place in a time where that word is not yet known.
