2nd Special Missions Battalion
Background[edit]
The 2nd Special Missions Regiment is one of the elite units of the Imperial Army. Their mission is to take down high value rebel targets. Unusually, the 2nd does away with the scout and repulsorlift platoons and replacing them with more special missions platoons. Due to the battalions size, it is almost always split up into companies for deployment.
Platoon composition[edit]
A platoon is made up of 4 sharpshooter squads (totaling 36 men), 2 engineer squads (totaling 18 men) and 2 heavy weapons squads (totaling 18 men) with a Platoon Sergeant (ranked a Staff Sergeant) and Lieutenant in command. Thus, a platoon totals 74 men.
Company composition[edit]
A company is made up of 8 platoons of 74 men each (totaling 592 men) and a 28 man headquarters and support element (including the company commander and Master Sergeant). Thus, a company totals 620 men. Unlike in the Royal Assault Regiment, companies are commanded by captains, with the staff officers being lieutenants
Battalion composition[edit]
A Battalion is made up of 8 companies of 620 men each (totaling 4960 men) and a 240 man headquarters and support element (including the battalion commander and a Sergeant Major). Thus, a battalion totals 5,200 men. The Battalion is commanded by a major, with the staff officers being captains.
