Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the ninja.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Ninja are proficient with the following weapons: Dagger, Dart, Shuriken Shortbow,Katana,Ninja-to, kusari-gama,and blowgun.. They are not proficient with any armor or shields, and lose many class abilities in any armor with an armor check penalty greater than zero. A ninja is highly trained at dodging blows, and she has a sixth sense that lets her avoid even unanticipated attacks. When unarmored and unencumbered, the ninja adds her Wisdom bonus (if any) to her AC. In addition, a ninja gains a +1 bonus to AC at 5th level. This bonus increases by 1 for every five ninja levels thereafter (+2 at 10th, +3 at 15th, and +4 at 20th level).
Fast Movement: At 3rd level the ninja further increases his speed by 10 feet. Every 3 levels afterwards (6,9,12,15,18), add another 10 feet. This ability is lost in any armor with an armor check penalty greater than zero.
Sneak Attack: If a ninja can catch an opponent when he is unable to defend himself effectively from her attack, she can strike a vital spot for extra damage.
The ninja’s attack deals extra damage any time her target would be denied a Dexterity bonus to AC (whether the target actually has a Dexterity bonus or not), or when the ninja flanks her target. This extra damage is 1d6 at 1st level, and it increases by 1d6 every two ninja levels thereafter. Should the ninja score a critical hit with a sneak attack, this extra damage is not multiplied.
Ranged attacks can count as sneak attacks only if the target is within 30 feet.
With a sap (blackjack) or an unarmed strike, a ninja can make a sneak attack that deals nonlethal damage instead of lethal damage. She cannot use a weapon that deals lethal damage to deal nonlethal damage in a sneak attack, not even with the usual –4 penalty.
A ninja can sneak attack only living creatures with discernible anatomies—undead, constructs, oozes, plants, and incorporeal creatures lack vital areas to attack. Any creature that is immune to critical hits is not vulnerable to sneak attacks. The ninja must be able to see the target well enough to pick out a vital spot and must be able to reach such a spot. A ninja cannot sneak attack while striking a creature with concealment or striking the limbs of a creature whose vitals are beyond reach.
Ninja Dodge: A ninja may designate an opponent and receive a +1 dodge bonus to Armor Class against attacks from that opponent. The ninja may select a new opponent on any action. The dodge bonus increases by +1 at 4th level and every 4 levels thereafter. This is cumulative with the Dodge feat. If the ninja has a dodge bonus from Ninja Dodge and/or the Dodge feat greater than +1, they may choose to divide the bonus among multiple opponents. This ability is lost in any armor with an armor check penalty greater than zero. Ninja with this ability may take feats with Dodge as a prerequisite if they do not have the Dodge feat, but may only use such feats while not wearing armor with a check penalty greater than zero.
Poison Use: Beginning at 2nd level, ninja are no longer at risk of self-poisoning while applying poison to a weapon.
Uncanny Dodge (Ex): Starting at 3rd level, a ninja can react to danger before her senses would normally allow her to do so. She retains her Dexterity bonus to AC (if any) even if she is caught flat-footed or struck by an invisible attacker. However, she still loses her Dexterity bonus to AC if immobilized.
If a ninja already has uncanny dodge from a different class he automatically gains improved uncanny dodge (see below) instead.
Speed of Darkness: Beginning at 4th level, the ninja may add his Intelligence modifier to his initiative rolls.
Improved Uncanny Dodge (Ex): A ninja of 6th level or higher can no longer be flanked. This defense denies a rogue or another ninja the ability to sneak attack the character by flanking her, unless the attacker has at least four more rogue, ninja or combined rogue/ninja levels than the target does.
If a character already has uncanny dodge (see above) from a second class, the character automatically gains improved uncanny dodge instead, and the levels from the classes that grant uncanny dodge stack to determine the minimum rogue/ninja level required to flank the character.
Blind-fight: At 10th level, the ninja gains this feat for free.
Deflect Arrows: At 12th level, the ninja gains this feat for free even if he does not meet the requirements.
