The Glebe[edit]
Adjacent to the rectory and village cemetary is the glebe: fields whose produce is the property of the church. A low fieldstone wall separates the glebe from the cemetary; the other boundaries are marked by hedges, hurdles, and wattle fencing. A gate to the rectory croft, and another on the west side facing the barn, open into the glebe. Stiles lead to the fields east and south.
The glebe is farmed with the same three-field system used on the rest of the manor.
Transients[edit]
Robert, the servant of Father Wallace, is the commonest visitor here. Various villagers can be found here by day, doing their tithe work.
