AMDP:The Society Sheet

Setting: Ars Magica, more or less - a European-based Order of Hermes where wizards do things; maybe not religiously sticking to the books.

Time and Place: Europe, turn of the 14th Century.

Plot: The last Bonisagus Folio, the collection of current magical scholarship across Europe, has now been disseminated, and now a new committee has been formed for the next publication (probably the one in 1305). Publication in the folio is a sign of great merit in the Order generally and is part of the unofficial status system within House Bonisagus, so getting into the folio is much-sought-after. Furthermore, the ability to possess the folio once it leaves the Black Forest (where House Bonisagus is headquartered) before another wizard's covenant is the subject of much bargaining and bribery. The committee will be tempted, cajoled, threatened, and other forces may come to bear in forming this publication.

Roles: Players are members of the committee, presumably magi of the Order of Hermes, but given no need for fealty to the setting-as-written, could be other scholars or stakeholders like a teacher at a medieval university like Paris or Oxford, or a merchant prince sponsor paying for the costs of copying and distribution.

Additional Rules: none yet -- do we want any?
