Amber Bronkhorst

When Duncan and Alex have some.time alone. She frowns and him. A slight scowl. She then inhales deep takes two mugs fills them and hands him one. By now her familiar smile is back on her face again. "I was seriously worried, you just jumping on that pattern. Then flying off. I didn't know what to do so i called in for help. Don't know if i did it right." Taking a large drink to calm herself "So where did you go and when did you decide to create a dragon army for Amber? And i have to know. Was this grand entrance planned? Because timing was beautiful!"

Michael James Watson

After dealing with (The Red Sword page stuff and convos) Duncan and Alex find time alone, with T'Gil flying in the skies over Amber. They fly in the clouds and the cool breezes.. The psuedodragons fly off Alex as she was first lifted aboard T'Gil and clamped onto its body in the upper chest in a posistion they and T'Gil acted naturally about. After flying around the city, attracting attention, he swings up over the Grove of the Unicorn to the wester portions of the mountain range Kolvir dominates. Coming down Alex sees small caves pocking the sharp curve of a small vale. A green meadow area is beside a lake. A large sandy region east of the lake looks chilly. Landing on the grass by the lake Donovan dismounts. "I had a dragon companion for 4o years or so once when traveling shadow. Its why the angry pattern produced a dragon for me. They are a race similiar to pernese dragons though not bred for the same purpose. Ive had my eye on this place for centuries. Slowly spending time here preparing the individual weyrs. There is room for 200 dragons and riders, with their family. "

Amber Bronkhorst

Alex at first clings thight to Duncan, never flown a dragon before. But when they are up in the air and she feels the air around her her body relaxes more. She keeps a good eye on her little dragons, seeing they are hanging on well and naturally she stops worrying about that as well. Admiring the city below, the Grove and Kolvir she is silent during the whole ride to the lake. Dismounting she stays quiet, taking it all in. Looking amazed at the dragon which brought them here. "Really, so you have experience with dragons, fantastic! It is a wonderful development then, that you were able to ready the Weyrs here and the enranged pattern producing one for you. " Alex looks around again and then stops to look at Duncan smiling wide. "This is great, this will strengthen Amber. I am amazed how fast you could arrange this. " She then looks at her own three pseudodragons letting them konw they can let go. If they had not already done that. "So what is your plan now? stay here with the dragons? Establishing this place and the forces?"

Michael James Watson

"Fast? Hardly..I became Second Warden around 4100. I had spent the better part of 900 years in Amber traveling in shadows. Those were good years. Best of my life in many ways. Few responsibilities. Amber had no real enemies of consequence. I was practically unknown in Amber. Or forgotten. The elders had their own power dynamics against each other and it was easy to be ignore. Around 4000 I met Zachary, Flora's son. We traveled together and spent time as dragon riders on a Pern Weyr. He bonded deeper with dragons. A true beast master. Still, i came back at Julian's request and took up mu post. There I stayed." He walks her into the Weyr, the dragon bowing to walk into the rock interior. " Like most Amberites i have many residences. Yet, If i have a true home, this is it. I started building the Weyrs after serving for 20 or so years. Oberon encouraged it. He said one day they would be needed. There are 5 Weyrs. North Weyr up by the Ice Wastes. This one, Koldvir Weyr. Green Water Weyr of all things. One in Tylece, and one still hidden, unfinished. There will be 1000 dragons and riders, and a community to support each one. I will be a rider. But sadly i will not be the Dragonlord of Amber. That title will belong to someone else. It may be hundreds of years before the Weyrs are active. These dragons breed slower and have different powers from the ones I rode. Different purposes. Different bonds. While most dragons will have a single companion, it will be a main companion. They will be riden by others too. " "Part of the trouble is that there are two might dragons Random has to contend with once these become active. His brother Hanvir and his sister Vox. Neither is in fealty to Amber. Niether is pleased about these Weyrs but I could not have brought this first group without their permission. I just have to hope they don't decide to com eat my dragons"

Amber Bronkhorst

Alex just listens and follows, amazed by the interior of the Weyr. She had never seen one from the inside. Hearing Duncan his recollection of what he done over the years, Alex smiles, though a bit of a bitter hint can be seen. Probably as she realizes she doesn't have that luxury of being unknown, not watched etc. "Do you think those two might disagree with dragons here? And seriously they would eat the dragons? I mean.... the two you mention, those are one of the first of Oberon right?"

Michael James Watson

"Yes, Vox is of the First Brood. Mercurial, amoral, but reasonable. Hanvir comes along mid list of our aunts and uncles. Both have had conversations with Random so I suspect they know of the plan. I cleared bringing them in today so whatever happens, it wasn't a surprise to everyone."

Amber Bronkhorst

Alex nods "Well if it is all cleared and spoken about i doubt dragon will be on anyone's menu. " Alex looks a bit about where Duncan had lead her to. Finding it a really cozy interior. She then turns to him. "You say you willl not be the DragonLord of Amber. Any idea who it might be? Or is that what is going to be discussed at lunch?" Stepping closer to Duncan she wraps her arms around his waist. "I am happy you have safely returned." "And well it was a surprise to some to bring them in today. But it made for fun reactions. And what an event to close of my parents their... again wedding." Alex shakes her head. "It is kind of suspicious the more i think about it. That they are getting married.. again. Last time they married an hour... for my birth and thats it."

Michael James Watson

"Ya,....ah..... i know about that. Father told me after...well.... when he found us together.. You have an abyssal mark. You were born with it. By being married, before the Unicorn, at the time of your birth, you were a legitimate child of Amber. That meant the creature the mark is attached to would not be able to control you, since that required a certain degree of taint. Its the reason I ...ended things then. In time i decided my father was a horses ass and made my own mind up."

Amber Bronkhorst

A bit surprised Alex looks at Duncan. Releasing her arms from around his waist. Just to process what he just said. "So you know about the mark. Julian knows about it..... Mom and dad knew it was going to be an issue so they married for the sake of my safety..... " A moment silence. A soft exhaled breath and the smile appears again on her lips. "I am very happy you made up your own mind. And so far. The Abyssal Mark has been very useful. It doesn't do alot. But what it does... it does well." Adding a wink to her sentence. "Bleys suggested more is linked to my Abyssal Mark but at the moment he was about to say things he changed his mind. " A slight shrug. "It'll come to light sooner or later. But for now. Dragons! You said things needed to be done before your lunch with the King. What can i do?"

Michael James Watson

"The dragons are fastidious. They are very picky about their cleanliness. Its one of the things that seeps over into our bond. I've always been in favor of cleanliness but they really push it. The dragons had a long flight from the world of Deselduia where we trained them. They are down in the lake cleaning right now but its making me feel itchy..."

Amber Bronkhorst

"Really, i didn't know that about dragons. But then again..... haven't met many before." She looks at her pseudodragons wondering of they feel the same. "The dragons cleaning makes you feel itchy? Then why didn't you jump in the lake with them? " Alex grins. "Or do you rather have some privacy?"

Michael James Watson

"The personal weyrs have a large space over there for the dragons to sleep, which they do quite a lot. But the Weyrs are meant o be used by dragon and rider." "They heated pools are next to the sleeping space. " Points to the curtain. "And we have 5 hours till lunch"

Amber Bronkhorst

Alex looks at Duncan, then to the curtains he mentions. A wide smile appears on her face. "Well then, let's see if i can scratch that itch for you." As she says that Alex already grabbed the front of Duncan his shirt, tugging gently towards the pools. "I am sure we can fill those five hours making you feel all clean and relaxed. And clean again."

Michael James Watson

"I can be a little late. The king doesn't usually stand on ceremony..."
