Urbosa[edit]

Urbosa Gerudo Stormblade.jpg

The Living Storm of Sand has no end, but it had a beginning known to the Gerudo who live where life was never easy but at least was once lush. Born into one of the houses of the Gerudo, Urbosa learned the ancient secrets of the desert and the storm that created it. She learned also to command the lightning and thunder, the cutting winds. Not content to merely battle the monsters of the desert, Urbosa has left to combat the Masters and to prevent the abuses of power that led to the creation of the Living Storm of Sand.

Invokes, Compels, and Permissions[edit]

Gerudo Stormblade: Giantesses of the Mizuita Desert, the Gerudo stand around 8 feet tall on average with bronzed skin and bright hair (generally shades of red, but some are blond). They trace their lineage to before the Mizuita was a desert, to when it was a vast grasslands that they ranged over. That was before the Living Storm of Sand was drawn out from the depths of the earth. In order to survive the desert left in its wake, the Gerudo learned the secrets of thunder, lightning, and destructive winds. They learned also to build cities to withstand the storm, for as a malicious thing it would not follow a regular course to allow their migrations to avoid it but as a fickle thing it would not simply hover over their settlements. Eroded remains of the ancient shrines that marked the course of migration are still in the desert, but they are largely weathered to nothing for the Living Storm loves to mock the Gerudo by scouring their history from the face of the earth.

Gerudo magic focuses on the harsh elements around them. Likewise, their arts of war mimic the winds and are based on the realities of armor's impracticality in the desert. The fusion of these arts is the Stormblade discipline, taken up by dedicated daughters of the Gerudo. Stormblades learn to withstand and channel the elements, allowing them to not only effectively battle threats in the desert but to serve as a last ditch defense against the Living Storm which they can engage in a way that will attract its attention and survive it long enough to distract it so that it wanders back into the less inhabited parts of the desert.
