Appearance[edit]

Albrecht, or Albert, D'Krieger is a stunningly gorgeous gold skinned Half-Celestial that has golden irises. His formal manner is easy going but his inflection is perfect. This is due to the fact that he's been hanging around the Church of Kaalon and has picked up on their accent. He thus speaks in a formal manner that is not normal.

Albrecht's gorgeous pair of black wings are something that he keeps retracted into his back for the most part as they seem composed of an other dimensional substance that appears when he desires it rather than flesh and blood. Given Winterweir's intolerance for the unusual, a God Child's appearance is something he wants to genuinely keep secret. Most just assume he's a very exotic looking man.

Personality[edit]

Albrecht seems to lack a lot of the maturity that one would expect from a Priest of Tyros but can often be seen clutching the hammer amulet he keeps under his shirt in times of duress. Albert is aware of his effect on people and tends to act overly friendly or condescending but rarely anything in-between. He's arrogant, despite his near brush(es) with death and seems to take everything in stride. He often lets criminals get away with heavy crimes and punishes severely lesser offenses based on his own interpretation of the circumstance (which, oddly, is what an Accuser is SUPPOSED to do but rarely do they ever do it to the degree Albert does).

Albrecht is known to pretend to be either ridiculously skilled or a moron on occasion. This puts people off his decidedly above average but otherwise unremarkable skills. Albrecht survives by trickery and doesn't really know what he's capable of but he does have a wide variety of skills anyway. Despite his reputation as a womanizer, Albrecht tends to cultivate long lasting reputations with a few select women rather than a long string of one night stands. These are mostly related to his case work but any desire to settle down is hampered by the fact that he tends to choose women he could never conceivably marry.

Abilities[edit]

Albrecht is extremely good at convincing individuals to go along with what he says. He also possesses minor magic that is related to his Half-Celestial nature; including the ability to charm others, always tell when people are lying, along with whether they are good or evil. Albrecht is a stunningly good musician in addition to these qualities and has a beautiful voice he reserves for either guitar performances or choir. Albrecht is also an excellent Detective.

Fighting Ability[edit]

Albrecht is a man who subsists largely by reputation as a fighter rather than genuine skill. Using Buffs (Armor, Bull's Strength, Cat's Grace, Haste, and True Strike amongst others), he's capable of imitating the skill of a far better fighter than he is. He also makes use of magical items whenever possible and attempts to psyche out opponents before actually engaging them in battle. Even so, his bravado often gets the better of him.

Background[edit]

Albrecht begins his life in the Mortuary of Kaalon. Found face down in the mud, having imbibed poison that would have killed a normal man, he was pronounced dead and taken to the Mortuary. Somehow, he managed to awaken before they began his autopsy and has discovered that he has no memory of his past. Due to the fact that he was sporting the credentials of a Accuser of Tyros from the city of Moonport, people have assumed that he is in fact the man that his wallet identifies him as. Albrecht also believes such is the case due to the fact he seems to know a great deal about the laws of Winterweir.

Albrecht, privately, suspects that there's more to the story but he's not sure how to proceed in investigating something that is so opaque. On occasion, he has nightmares of great winged beings and battles across the Heavens. In any case, Albert has taken up the position of an Accuser once more, after taking several tests to prove that he can still do the job. So far, he's managed to dazzle the individuals with his masterful charisma and ability to spot lies in his opponents.

It's been six years since that occasion and he's died several times since then. Chief amongst the changes of his life have been the acquisition of Trucy A'Turran, an eight Rabbit Valken that he found abandoned in the streets. Adopting the girl as his own, he is no closer to closer to finding the truth about his past. He has created a large network of friends and associates that put him better on the ball with Alfein's many problem than most.

He currently lives in a boarding house with his daughter, that doubles as his Law firm.
