Welcome to the Alter Ego Main Page! This will document the how-to, rules, and variants of rules you can use to play Any RPG as yourself, or a fantasy character if using the variant rule!
About the Game[edit]
Alter Ego is a TTRPG with the goal of playing as yourself, or an "Alter Ego", through various scenarios, such as a Zombie Apocalypse, Getting Isekai'ed, or being forced into a Battle Royale. Alter Ego tries to keep things simple but easily expandable. The only dice are d6s, and there are no classes, but you can build yourself through loose groupings of abilities if you so choose, the point of this simplicity is to let the game flow quicker and easier for new TTRPG players.
Alter Ego has 2 types of games, Realistic, and Magic. Realistic will often be played in settings like space, a dystopian future, or the end of the world, while Magic is used for Isekai, or general fantasy. The difference between Realistic and Magic are 2 things, how much of a "Hero" your Alter Ego is, and if Magic is something the players can use.
