Backstory

Andi Parker was a paramedic. He drove ambulances and treated injuries. Genuinely saving lives wasn't quite an everyday thing, but it wasn't rare either. With moderate power comes moderate responsibility, and Andi was happy to be doing good in the world. It paid well, too, and left time to care for his wife and play with his amateur basketball team. In short, a worthwhile life.

Maybe that sort of thing impresses Imperators, maybe he unknowingly saved a miraculous being's life, or maybe there was no real reason for choosing Andi. Whatever the reason, Andi was offered the choice to become the Power of Fire, and he took it.

He helped people to the best of his ability - that remains true, but now his ability is far beyond human. His soul is filled with burning energy, compelling him to move onwards and find new things to do and innocents to save. But he never stays in one place for longer than he's meant to, or he'll leave nasty burn marks on the sofa. He still cares for Kat, and she cares for him, but his world is bigger than hers now. Oh, and his old amateur basketball team stays in contact.
