Anklok Uprising[edit]

To this day, the reasons behind the attempt by the Southern tribe of Dragon Kings to overthrow the Tessian Mechanarchy are woefully misunderstood by the bulk of mainstream accounts. They point to the so-called inborn tendency towards violence, as if this were anything more than blatant antiforomianism, and act as though this explains the so-called Mechanoclastic Revolt. Clearly, the answer lies more in the cruel sanctions the Tessians imposed to those accused of falling under the sway of the more Wyld-tainted aspects of the Elemental Tides. In particular, the period of persecution of the Solar Races by the Mechanarchy following the destruction of Gem was bound to produce such a result.

True, the Anklok partisans did not entirely limit their strikes to Tessian targets. But that was only in response to the purges and reprisals implemented by the Mechanarchy in an effort to quell them before the sentiment spread to the other races of Solarines. Given their extraordinary efforts to present the situation as the Anklok majority standing alone among the Southern enclaves, it was nearly inevitable that the draconians took the stance that all the surrounding shires were hostile towards them. I don't wish to engage in apologism for the crystal-bombings of Shiran targets, but still, one must understand the situation they occurred in.
