The year is 2054.
The place is Freedom City, world metropolis of tomorrow!
For years, Freedonians and the entire world have bathed in the sun of a golden age free from criminal hate. Twenty-five years ago a vile fiend called the Atomic Brain set out to bring glorious radiation to the free world. Gathering a villainous horde he was opposed by the world's greatest heroes lead by the Freedom League.
No one would win that day.
A great portion of New England and most of the world's heroes were devistated in the massive blast. Yet from the carnage grew a new understanding - what is told to be unlimited power source now fuels America and her allies, as the fields of irrandiated ash have been harvested, through an ingenious technology.
For twenty-five years it has been an age undreampt.
But as with all things time stagnates. The Fens' corruption has festered. Criminals and mercenaries seeking power, fame and riches flock from across the world to Freedom City - the new world hub of commerce and influence.
Greed, hate, anger, apathy.
For freedom to survive, she needs heroes...
