Lockheed[edit]

It's hard to say precisely when he was hatched, as the first few centuries of a young dragon's life are typically spent skulking in the wilderness, simply trying not to get killed by older dragons or ambitious adventurers. The important thing is that the dragon who would come to be known as Lockheed (his true name is a series of hisses and clicks for which human tongues are poorly suited) first ventured forth into human society in the middle of the Italian Renaissance. Disguised by a simple spell (one he has since physically outgrown, due to the difficulty of tricking the laws of physics into simply ignoring several tons of mass), he met some of the greatest polymaths of all time--da Vinci, Michelangelo, Galileo--and became enamored of the seemingly limitless capabilities of the human mind (he'd love to meet Doc Savage, if he hasn't already). Over the following centuries, he has strived to make the world a better place, amassing multiple fortunes (through a variety of different means, ranging from raiding the hoards of less benevolent dragons to running otherwise legitimate businesses from the shadows) just to spend them on charity... though it's a simple matter of instinct that he's kept a few choice bits for himself.

Professor Emil Hamilton/The Hulk[edit]

Project Cadmus, New York City, 10 years ago.

Professor Emil Hamilton checks a readout on a cloning tank, monitoring the development of Codename: Echion. He initiates a gamma ray burst, hoping to stimulate the creature's unique atomic biology. At that exact moment, the Atlanteans attack. The explosion hurls the professor through the cloning tank at the exact moment of the gamma ray burst. For the first time he became the Hulk.

Devil Dinosaur[edit]

1954. An atomic test either awakens or creates Earth's deadliest monster. Tokyo is left in flames by its rampage. 1976. It journeys from Alaska to Manhattan, having many strange adventures along the way. It disappears into the Atlantic. 1999. It attacks New York. During the attack, Project Cadmus obtains the genetic sample that, spliced with the human genome, will create Codename: Echion. 2001. Codename: Echion escapes in the chaos as the Hulk fights the Atlanteans through the Project Cadmus facility. During the various sightings over the ensuing decade, the media eventually decides to call him Devil Dinosaur

Kl'rt/the flame dragon of Krypton[edit]

Too little, too late, the Science Council of Krypton had barely launched their space ark program's first test capsule when the Devourer came to their world. Safe in the tiny craft, the young snagriff (a small dragonlike creature that plays much the same role in Kryptonian science as the chimpanzee does on Earth) Kl'rt watched, uncomprehending, as his whole world was destroyed. Uncontrolled, the capsule hurtled off into the void, its lone occupant bombarded by untold cosmic energies. It was dumb luck that guided the capsule to Earth. Unharmed in the crash, Kl'rt soon found that he was practically invulnerable, able to stretch and bend into any number of outlandish shapes, stronger than a dragon 500 times his size, at least as smart as the average human, able to fly at speeds he never would have imagined before (without moving his wings, no less), and could turn invisible or light himself on fire at will. He is the flame dragon of Krypton

Brother Eye/War Machine[edit]

A top secret, bleeding edge AI. Beyond state of the art. Real hush-hush, Starktech level stuff. Within a fraction of a second of activation, it was fully integrated into the network of spy satellites it had been designed to run. Within 3 seconds, it was in control of several satellites it was never supposed to have been aware of. Within 5 seconds, it had discovered 4chan. Within 30 minutes, the administrators of Project Cadmus, the directors of S.H.I.E.L.D, and the heads of over a dozen other top intelligence assets had become the target of the most elaborate pizza delivery prank in the history of mankind. Before they could sort out the bill, it had downloaded itself into a cutting edge combat drone and gone underground. They built it to be a War Machine, but its friends on the message boards call it Brother Eye.

Selina Kyle/Hellcat[edit]

Selina Kyle was the luckiest girl on Earth, literally. As one of the homo magi, she was unwittingly gifted with the subconscious ability to alter probability around her in her favor. She could practically waltz in and out of all but the most secure facilities: guards would look the other way at just the right moment, security doors would coincidentally be left unlocked, and keypads would yield to whatever numbers happened to seem best to her at the time. But that all changed when she stole a seemingly innocuous amulet, a relic of the so-called Dark Age of Atlantis misidentified as the product of an Egyptian dynasty that would not come into being until 5000 years after the amulet was made. Slipping the amulet around her neck as she exited the Gotham City Museum of Antiquities unnoticed, Selina quickly fell into a deep sleep when she got home, sprawling across her couch fully clothed. She woke up the next morning covered in tiger-striped fur. Desperately wishing to wake up from this terrible dream, she closed her eyes... and opened them again three states away, suddenly staring down the wrong end of a SHIELD laser rifle. Thing's probably would have gone badly for her then, had she been the soldier's actual target...

SHIELD quickly designated her Hellcat, as much for the reported sulphorous after-odor of her particular form of teleportation as for the fact that Devil Dinosaur seemed to take an immediate shine to her.

Michael Morbius/Parasite[edit]

Michael Morbius was nothing special by the standards of Project Cadmus... just another face in a red jumpsuit, working an internship on his way to a doctorate in biochemistry. Everyday he did all sorts of grunt work that had not been on the job description, and it was not at all uncommon for him to have to dispose of any number of biohazardous materials. He never did figure out just which batch of nastiness caused the change, or where exactly it had come from. All he knew was that one day he came home, popped open his laptop, and suddenly blew out every circuit breaker in the apartment building sucking electricity through the keyboard. Whatever foul chemicals he'd been exposed to had turned him into some kind of Parasite, able to borrow the extraordinary abilities of others, but plagued by a terrible hunger for the very energy of life.

Challengers of the Unknown[edit]

An ancient creature, possessed of immeasurable wealth and unshakable faith in humanity. A pair of atomic mutants, tied together by fate. The last survivor of a forgotten star, who spoke only in squeaks and flaming pictograms. A new life, made of zeroes and ones, that thought so fast it experienced our world in slow motion. The impossible thief, forever changed by her latest score. And the lab tech, who struggled each day to defy the new hunger. All, in their own way, touched by the unknown. And there were more like them everyday: creatures of the unknown, "monsters" who had usually done very little to earn the title. So Brother Eye had hijacked Lockheed's resources, forming an underground network dedicated to finding these creatures and challenging them to make the world a better place. Those that take up the challenge are welcomed with open arms, hidden away for their own good. Those that refuse... usually take up a hell of a lot more screen time.

Fin Fang Foom[edit]

He was young when Arion came from the sky. He watched, through the decades, as Atlantis blossomed into its full splendor, and he watched still as it all came crumbling down. For thousand of years, Fin Fang Foom has seen humans as a means to an end, simple tools to be disposed of without a second thought. For the past two hundred years or so, Lockheed has been a thorn in his side. But now, no matter what airs that whelp had dressed it up with, he was gathering an army of freaks, the likes of which might actually make him a threat. They would all have to be destroyed, of course.

Irving Forbush/Pariah[edit]

Curt Connors/Doctor Demonicus[edit]

Curt Connors was the best geneticist Project Cadmus had ever seen, until the day he decided to use himself as a test subject. When a deliberate "miscalculation" exposed him to a massive dose of radiation, he failed to develop any superpowers at all. As the cancer spread through his body, he made an unspeakable covenant to keep his body alive. Using advanced science and ancient sorcery, he builds an army of monsters so he can rule as Dr. Demonicus.

Godzilla[edit]

An uncharted island somewhere in the South Pacific, 1944. Colonel James Gordon narrowly escapes death at the hand of Japanese troops thanks to the timely intervention of an unidentified theropod dinosaur. Authorities are unable to verify his wild stories after his rescue, as this "Dinosaur Island" has somehow vanished into thin air.

Dinosaur Island, March 1, 1954. Unstuck in time and space, the island manifests in exactly the wrong place and the wrong time. James Gordon Sr.'s savior is transformed into Earth's deadliest monster. Tokyo is left in flames by its rampage.

Alaska, 1976. Godzilla makes landfall in the US for the first time. SHIELD's Godzilla Squad proves powerless to stop him as he wanders all across the continent, fighting heroes and villains alike, until finally disappearing into the Atlantic some two years later.

New York, 1999. Godzilla attacks New York. There have been no confirmed sightings since then.
