Drugs and Consumables[edit]

  • Gorsk White Gin. 2 bottles. Special Occasions only. Can also be used to kill small animals and clean drains. IH p. 129

  • Wines of Quaddis. Assorted. For dinner parties, etc. IH p. 129

  • Night Dust. Enough low-level supply for 4 months or for three binges. When used in highly diluted concentrations, night dust is an exotic hallucinogen. Usually smoked with lho. Has occasionally imbibed in higher doses with alcohol, but the effects were less than pleasant. Not addictive. IH p. 129

  • Ghostfire Pollen Extract. 2 doses. Sometimes taken on dangerous combat missions. “Recovered” from certain penal legion quartermasters. Salvador is sure to wear cheap clothing, as the bleeding of his pores has ruined more than one suit. Not addictive. IH p. 184.

  • Obscura. 25 doses (concentrated powder). Only taken in times of boredom. In the subsequent depression, Sal may become irritable and prone to treachery. Often used for bribery/ blackmail. Addictive, but not currently addicted. DH p.148

  • Stimm. Again, only for combat. Unknown if addictive. Not addicted. DH p.149

  • Explication Serum. 30 doses. Sometimes mixed with an injectable drug (such as dilute obscura) to induce free speech in a target. Of course, Sal never indulges. RH p. 159

  • Lho. Effectively infinite supply. Smoked, not injected. Sal is addicted to lho sticks.

  • Phetamote. 3 month’s supply (90 doses) in pill form. Sal is addicted, and suffers -10 to Perception when not using the drug. He is takes -5 to Str, Toughness, and Ag when using the drug and for 1d5 hours afterwards (may be decreased due to heavy use).

  • Blush. 2 bottles. A somewhat amusing liquor. ItS p.133

  • Attention Spanner. 4 doses. Sometimes used for an extremely challenging project. Once, Salvador became distracted and painted a series of landscape instead. His Inquisitor at the time was not amused.

  • White Void. 3 months supply (90 doses) in powder form. Usually smoked via lho-stick (specially rolled and labelled). Sal is addicted. ItS p.133

The three drugs Sal is addicted to (Lho, White Void, and Phetamote) are Common, Rare, and Very Rare, respectively. With the aid of the Kasballica Mission, this is reduced to Ubiquitous, Abundant, and Plentiful. Of course, Sal does not buy his lho-sticks from the mob.

Effective Drug Modifiers[edit]

  • Lho. None (other than clouds of slightly spicy smoke and possible second-hand halluciongenic effects if he's spiked it with Night Dust.)

  • White Void. +20 Wp for 1d10 minutes. Sal must use once per day. Sal's irides are white, but he disguises this with coloured contact lenses when on missions. The effect is rather unnerving when he's just lounging around, however.

  • Phetamote. -10 to Per when not using the drug. +10 to Per, -5 to Str, T, and Ag for 1d5 hours per dose when using. Sal must use once per day.

In case of Brain Emergency, Sal will slam some White Void and then some Attention Spanner.

  • Attention Spanner. Must take a -10 Wp test. If succcessful, +30 to Int for 3d10 rounds. If failed, -20 to all tests for 3d10 rounds as something else fixiates him.

  • With a sucessful dose of Attention Spanner, Sal's Int is effectively (temporarily) 94. His Int bonus is 18.

Contacts[edit]

The Roving Bibliophiles[edit]

An eclectic group of around a dozen scholars, associates, and scribes generously maintained by the lavish donations of Duke Antony Borsola (and a few other notables), the Roving Bibliophiles are the tools of their unseen masters. They are ever tasked to seek out and procure (sometimes by illegal means) rare volumes and works. They go where they are ordered to go, and are payed extremely well for their troubles.

Duke Borsola, theoretically, can order the group from world to world with a world. They go where they are paid to go, sometimes spending months in idleness.

The Kasballica Mission[edit]

Little needs to be said about this sector-spanning criminal organization. There are very few worlds that are not graced by them, and, for the right price, one can obtain anything from their storerooms. They trust Sal (or his intermediaries). He trusts them. Both profit immensely.

Alter Ego: Duke Antony Borsola[edit]

Sal often finds it expedient to be someone else for a time. Duke Borsola, a notorious recluse, suffered a "nervous attack" and died a decade ago. Salvador Thorn assumed his identity, his title, and his small holdings on Scintilla. His paperwork is entirely in order, and the Duke's reputation as a learned man and a traveller opens many doors on far-flung worlds. Sal is careful to wear a moustache and streak his hair grey when assuming the Duke's identity.
