Description: The Lady is fairly unmistakable. Mainly because she's gorgeous, her eyes seem to be actually faceted in the right light, her hair is a strange verdigrised bronze hue, and she's normally dressed in either a white shift or completely naked, depending on whether she is (relatively) hiding or not.

Backgrounds[edit]

Cult (**)[edit]

"Cecelyne's Lady watches..." A slowly growing number of the populace of Terminal City know that turn of phrase. A strange language that most are unfamiliar with has started showing up in the graffiti near patches of silver sand that mysteriously appear overnight. A couple of college professors are tracking the strange graffiti, which is vaguely reminiscent of ancient Mayan, but have not yet put together its appearance with the wide patch of sand they trudged past. Except for one or two, and they mask their knowledge behind a mask of bafflement. They know exactly what it says, for in at least one instance, they wrote it there.

"Cecelyne's Lady watches..."

Darkness and corruption of the City allows the cult to spread like wildfire, for it teaches hope, which is something that most of the people in the City only know of as the hope to move somewhere better. The Cult teaches that 'even a bent and broken sword can be reforged into something bright and shining', and that 'the Lady watches over us because we belong to her'.

"Cecelyne's Lady watches..."

On the Line, there are a few homes where people have knocked down their common back fences, choosing to instead cover their backyards in silver sand, ostensibly for the kids to play in.

On the Belt, one of the more upscale nightclubs hired a contractor to change the landscaping from lush palms to silver sand.

In Old Town, near the park, a small garden is slowly swallowed by silver sand.

Even as far away as the suburbs and as close as the Docklands, there are patches of silver sand that spring up overnight and as far as the locals are concerned, have always been there.

Always the silver sand heralds the same piece of graffiti somewhere nearby.

"Cecelyne's Lady watches..."

Influence (*)[edit]

  • Having members of her cult throughout the city pays many dividends, from hiding places when necessary to food when she feels like eating...

Backing (*)[edit]

  • The Lady has the backing of her patron in Malfeas, although that tends to not do her much good on Earth...

Unwoven Coadjutator (*****)[edit]

  • Agatae-Two Dice Bonus to all Perception Rolls, 4 dice bonus to Join Battle rolls, one free demon-related specialty (Performance-Prayers to Cecelyne), 2 die bonus to all Social rolls against demons and Yozi cultists, can sense Yozi cultists unfailingly

Sifu (*)[edit]

  • Her Coadjutator knows a fair amount of things related to Infernal Items, Charms, and Martial Art stylings. (Can teach the Lady only. Knows Black Claw, Infernal Monster, Laughing Imp, and Hellfire Ballet styles, but is sworn only to teach the Lady one style at a time until she masters it. Currently working on Infernal Monster.[This way,she can't learn any Sidereal styles or any non-Infernal origin Celestial styles without finding another teacher...])

Demonic Familiar (***)[edit]

  • A gift from her lady, the Agatae does not question her mistress's commands. Surprisingly, for being a beautiful version of a giant wasp demon, her English is flawless with a slight trace of a British accent.

Artifact (****)[edit]

Perfected Kata Bracers, made of Corrupted Starmetal

The strips’ sutras are starmetal engravings, except in starmetal bracers—they use orichalcum. Attunement costs eight motes. When the character activates a Form-type Charm, the sutras inscribed on the bracers glow and lift from the artifact to engulf the character in light for a brief moment. However, when tainted with vitriol and chalcanth from an apporpriate demon, this tarnished bracers become useful in the highest degree to those who practice Infernal Monster style.... For the rest of the scene, she gains several benefits:

She adds her Essence to the accuracy, damage and defense of her unarmed attacks and of attacks made with the active Form-type Charm’s particular weapons. She may choose to inflict bashing or lethal damage at will and she may parry lethal attacks unarmed. In addition, Starmetal eases the flow of martial Essence, reducing the cost of activating Charms of the same style by two motes (minimum 1).

Artifact (***)[edit]

Corrupted Starmetal Emerald Spider Gauntlets These gauntlets are forged of articulated starmetal alloyed with green iron and inlaid with swirls of jet and gold filigree. Gently twitching spines jut from each knuckle, while the unnaturally long fingers—seemingly too slender to accommodate the wearer’s hands—are tipped with barbs. By expending two motes as a reflexive action, the bearer induces the gauntlets to ooze a brilliantly hued green venom for the rest of the scene. Attuning a pair of emerald spider gauntlets costs six motes of Essence.

These particular gauntlets were made for the Lady with a heavy alloying of corrupted starmetal, allowing her to strike devastating blows with the ease of dancing...

  • Malfeas Inevitability Technique
  • Effortless Malfeas Dominance
  • So Speaks Malfeas
  • By Pain Reforged - 1 health level, Ignore negative effects of all bashing damage suffered for a scene.
  • Nightmare Fugue Vigilance - Now ignores all penalties from sleep deprivation and may always choose to stay awake without a roll. When sleeping to recover WP, she suffers a -1 internal penalty to the roll, however.
  • By Agony Empowered- Upgrades By Pain Reforged to cover lethal and aggravated damage as well.
  • Insignificant Embers Intuition - 0 motes, enhances any standard Perception + Awareness toll to notice sensory details about a target. In addition to all other information, the Lady discerns the strength and aspect of the target's Essence relative to her own. Anyone passing a reflexive Perception + Awareness roll at difficulty 4 notices a momentary green glint in the Lady's eyes.
  • Green Sun Nimbus Flare
  • Cold Fire Desolation Brand
  • Wrath Stoked Bonfire Soul
  • Skyfire Seizing Repast
  • Sun Heart Furnace Soul
  • Rebuking Impudent Arms
  • Vitriolic Corona Endowment
  • Scar Writ Saga Shield x2 (Bashing Soak=Stamina+Essence, Lethal Soak=Stamina+Essence, Bashing Hardness=Stamina, Lethal Hardness-none)

Cecelyne[edit]

  • First Cecelyne Excellency
  • Second Cecelyne Excellency
  • Cecelyne Mythos Exultant- gains both WP and motes from stunting.
  • Cecelyne Inevitability Technique
  • Effortless Cecelyne Dominance
  • So Speaks Cecelyne

  • Hellscry Chakra (Infernals, pg. 118)- 5 motes, perceives all of the following: Dematerialized demons, possessing demons, adds Essence in bonus successes on all rolls to notice, track, or pierce the disguise attempts of all Malfean natives. Upon recognizing a demon or Yozi, its nature becomes Obvious to the user (ST provides a basic synopsis of target's capabilities and Motivations)[also applies to Infernal relics]. Also automatically recognizes non-demon Malfean natives, although no other information is given automatically.
  • Transcendant Desert Creature (Infernals, pg. 121)- Suffers no negative penalties from exposure, all foraging rolls with a diff. of 4+ instead have a diff. of 1, total penalty for starvation or thirst cannot rise above -3 (side effect of this is that the Exalt's body never produces waste of any kind), All mundane tracking attempts fail unless the user allows it, magically assisted tracking instead suffers a penalty = Infernal's Essence rating. (All of this only applies in places of desolation.)
  • Holy Land Infliction (Infernals, pg. 125)- 15 motes and 1 WP, creates a 10 yard square encroachement of Cecelyne. May spread through either regular worship ceremonies or ritual sacrifice of Exalts or gods.
  • Sand Through Fingers Defense (Infernals, pg. 123)- 3m - Physical Perfect Dodge. Can not be used against blows that would strike a dematerialized creature. Imperfection of the Endless Desert.
  • Withered Soul Wastes (Infernals, pg. 129)- 10 motes and 1 WP, expands 'place of desolation' to also include regions of spiritual desolation that aren't part of the Underworld.
  • Verdant Emptiness Endowment (Infernals, pg. 128)- 10 motes and 1 WP, can grant one dot of an Attribute, Ability, or specialty as a training effect.
  • Scoured Perfection of Form (Infernals, pg. 129)- Expands above to be able to bestow or remove mutations too.
  • Bestowal of Accursed Fortune (Infernals, pg. 129) - Expands above to include certain Backgrounds without DM approval. All other backgrounds require DM approval. (Abyssal Command, Allies, Acquaintances, Backing, Command, Connections, Contacts, Cult, Followers, Henchman, Influence, Mentor, Resources, Reputation, Retainers, Salary, Sifu, and Spies are the ones that don't require DM approval.)
  • Untouchable Infinitude Reflection (Infernals, pg. 124) 4 motes and 1 WP, for one scene, whenever the user spends WP to resist mental influence, her Dodge MDV increases by two for every point spent, cumulatively. Imperfection of the Endless Desert applies to bypassing this Charm.
  • Counter Pronouncement of Enthymemic Law (Infernals pg. 124) 5 motes- Perfect Parry against mental influence and Shaping effects by creating a law of Cecelyne that forbids it. Infernal and all First Circle Demons within earshot must spend 1 WP or instantly develop an Intimacy of loyalty to the new law as a Servitude effect. Vulnerable to the Imperfection of the Endless Desert.
  • Knowing the Desolate Heart (Infernals, pg 126)- 3 motes and 1 WP, enhances an action spent to understand an observed target's emotions and displayed Intimacies in a social scene. Roll automatically succeeds with twice the required successes. Furthermore, the Infernal understands all Intimacies displayed during the scene and their context toward other present characters. Finally, if the Infernal would have succeeded by any threshold without the charm, she learns what the target believes to be his greatest failure in life is.
  • Demonic Primacy of Essence (Infernals pg. 124) Whenever a character with this Charm makes a social attack against a native of Malfeas who has a lower Essence rating, the target suffers an MDV penalty equal to the difference between their Essence ratings, and the attack is considered unnatural mental influence. Attacks enhanced this way cost the usual number of Willpower points to resist. Hierarchy works both ways, however. The Infernal suffers the same penalty against the social attacks of Malfean natives with higher Essence (unless they also have this Charm, in which case the DV penalties for both Charms don’t stack), though any natural mental influence remains so.
  • Miracle Gift Mastery

She Who Lives In Her Name[edit]

Adorjan[edit]

The Ebon Dragon[edit]

Infernal Monster[edit]

  • Retribution Will Follow (Infernals, pg. 158) - pays one mote when damaged to enter a berserk rage
  • Raging Behemoth Charge (Infernals, pg. 159) - 4 motes, adds Martial Arts rating to number of yards per tick he can cover with Move or Dash, provided he heads towards a character that obviously attacked him. DV penalty reduced to 0 for Dashing and Moving like this.
  • Infernal Monster Form (Infernals, pg. 159) - 6 motes, gains the following for one scene: Can parry lethal attacks unarmed without a stunt. Every unarmed attack is piercing and raises the Infernal's Strength by one to a max of Essence rating. Speed of all unarmed attacks decreases by -1 to a minimum of Speed 3, unless he attacks with a flurry. Exists outside fate and as a creature of darkness native to Malfeas.
  • God Smashing Blow (Infernals, pg. 159) - 3m or 3m 1 WP - This Charm enhances an unarmed attack, causing the target to suffer automatic knockdown with no roll to resist if the attack hits. Additionally, every other character apart from the Charm user within (Martial Arts) yards of the impact must check for knockdown at a difficulty of (the Exalt’s Essence).

The surface beneath the target also suffers the raw damage of the attack, though this damage is always bashing and automatically piercing. Normally, Storytellers can dispense with calculating damage to the ground and simply assume this Charm leaves the target in a small crater. However, targets standing on flimsy structures may find their footing blasted out from under them, especially from high-damage attacks. If an Exalt uses this Charm to successfully strike a materialized god or demon with equal or lesser Essence, she may pay an additional Willpower. This strews the victim’s body as splatters of ephemera and gobbets of divine flesh in the usual crater. Although it appears to witnesses that the spirit died—messily—it is no more harmed than normal from the attack, save for being forcibly returned to its natural dematerialized state in addition to being knocked prone.

  • Fists of the Old Ones (Infernals, pg. 159) - Whenever the martial artist hits a target with a fierce blow (see Exalted, p. 158) enhanced with God-Smashing Blow, she may use any type of closed-fist striking technique instead of relying solely upon overhand hammer-fists. The opponent flies back in the direction of the blow, so the attacker may choose any remotely plausible vector.

Fists of the Old Ones launches victims (Strength x 5) yards in the chosen direction. Upon landing or striking any barrier in the path of flight, the character suffers falling damage as if he had plummeted straight down by the distance he actually traversed before being interrupted. Unlike conventional falls, victims can’t arrest their momentum with a (Wits + Athletics) roll, although they can mitigate damage by tumbling as normal. A successful roll also keeps characters blasted back into high barriers from bouncing off and falling again for a third round of damage from the attack. All of the usual effects of God-Smashing Blow go into effect at the victim’s final destination point after any bounce. This Charm is subject to the normal limits of falling damage.

  • Crack the Sky (Infernals, pg. 162) This Charm may be activated whenever the character releases an enemy from a clinch by throwing her, provided the Infernal is capable of lifting that enemy’s weight with a feat of strength. The Exalt hefts her up one-armed into the air and slams her with a thunderous punch from his other hand. The opponent flies up to (Martial Arts x 4) miles away over the course of approximately five minutes and plummets back to earth, impacting the land at terminal velocity to suffer the usual damage and inflict the same damage to the impacted surface (see Exalted, pp. 126-127). Everyone within (the Infernal’s Strength x 10) yards of the impact point (including the Infernal) must check for knockdown at a difficulty of (the Infernal’s Strength). Anyone blasted back by this Charm who is stopped prior to reaching maximum distance still suffers all effects of a terminal velocity impact.

Lifted inanimate objects may also be hurled extreme distances with this Charm to the same overall effect.
