Fluff: Chela's mother is a military veteran; she came home from the wars, pregnant with what turned out to be a half-orc, and raised her alone, turning away any suitors. She has said nothing about the father, but wasn't surprised when Chela began to demonstrate preternatural abilities in altering her own body. Chela is ugly and poorly socialized, but has a certain amount of respect from the community from the times she's helped protect it, including once when she drove off a very large bear by snarling at it.

Chela wants to be accepted by her peers, but has no idea of how to do it. She does, however, have an impressive talent for combat, and her mother has encouraged her, passing on her old gear (aside from the weapons, since Chela doesn't bother using them) and helping her practice fighting and using her abilities, as best she can.
