Eire Lane used to be the center of a thriving, ethnic community. It was home to the town's only Catholic church and most of its Irish families. They came to work the mine during the Great Depression, but the Protestant citizenry never really accepted them. Gathered together on the wrong side of the tracks, they grew ever more isolated over time.

The Apocalypse changed nothing; it only made things worse. The neighborhoods between Eire Lane and downtown were abandoned. The forest reclaimed them one house at a time. The Irish became self-sufficient and, by the turn of the millennium, they have very little contact with Covenant's other citizens.

The term "Shamrock Street" is never heard on Eire Lane. The Fianna make damn sure of it.
