Edmund is the only son of a mathematician(His father, Andrew) and an engineer (His mother, Katie). He had a relatively normal childhood, doing well at school. However, he devoured information at an astounding rate, no matter the subject .

In his late thirties, Edmund became a professor at the John Hopkins University, teaching about gravity and the other fundamental forces. However, he has been aware of the supernatural after reading some of the older tomes in the library. Out of interest, he tried following them, and found that he had power: specifically, power over gravity.

Having done research and investigations on the supernatural elements in the city, Josha intends only to find out just what happened to him, why and to fix it - a simple enough idea. But the Fae aren't too pleased with the idea of finding out what he was, and use outside agents to try and stop him, and in evading them he gets into even bigger trouble.
Edmund lends Joshua some of his books, preparing him for the fight ahead. However, this attracts the attention of the Summer Court, so now the Fae are watching him...
