DRYH: At The Crossroads - Character Template

Your Character should be anchored firmly in Deal-With-The-Devil 'Crossroads' folklore [Civil War era to early 20th century is ideal, but as long as your concept fits the Crossroads prerequisite any era of history is fine].

MY NAME IS . . . Character Name

AND I AM . . . Character Concept

The Five Questions that define your character

WHAT'S BEEN KEEPING YOU AWAKE? This is the source of your Insomnia. This is what landed you in the Mad City.

WHAT JUST HAPPENED TO YOU? This is the scene right before the start of the game. This is your first solid brush with Nightmares.

WHAT'S ON THE SURFACE? When people look at you, what do they see? This is the mask you show the world.

WHAT LIES BENEATH? When people look at you, what DON'T they see? This is what lives under the mask.

WHAT IS YOUR PATH? Where are you headed? What do you want? What do you need? What will you do to get it?

The Question that defines your character's unique vulnerability.

WHAT DID YOU BARGAIN AWAY? What leverage did you give away? What does Old Scratch have to hold over you?

Note: What you bargained away has not yet been taken from you . . . but it can be. It must be something your character genuinely values. Old Scratch deals for nothing less.

Special: Encounters that deal directly with a character's Bargain carry an additional pain rating equal to that character's current Exhaustion. Other characters cannot lend Discipline Dice in such encounters.

Your starting dice pools are as follows

TOTAL DISCIPLINE 3

PERMANENT MADNESS 0

CURRENT EXHAUSTION 0

Divide three slots between Flight and Fight in any configuration you prefer

TOTAL FLIGHT RESPONSES ?

TOTAL FIGHT RESPONSES ?

Choose the Talents that make your character unique

EXHAUSTION TALENT

  • That thing you do better than anybody ever did . . .

MADNESS TALENT

  • That thing you do that shouldn't EVEN be possible . . .

Note: Keep your real totals on the Character Sheet. Trackables, like responses, exhaustion, scar recalls, etc, are all tracked on the main page of the wiki.
