Delta Green: The Borellus Connection: Sixties Tradecraft
This is a guide to appopriate tradecraft, espionage, operational security and clandestine operations tactics in the 1960s, and the appropriate skills for each. Failure to apply these techniques will inevitably attract attention fron the opposition, increase suspicion, and trigger counteractions.
Cover Mission[edit]
Use Law or Bureaucracy to arrange a cover mission.
Use Accounting or Bureaucracy to arrange a secure budget for the mission. Use Military Science to obtain any additional military resources, facilities, etc. Use Art (Forgery) or Criminology to create any needed identification, authorizations, etc.
Use Criminology, Military Science or HUMINT to predict when a superior, investigator, witness or other party might decide to look deeper into the cover mission - then decide what steps to take.
Use Accounting, Bureaucracy or Law to alter, sidetrack or lose any incriminating evidence, case files, etc.
OPSEC[edit]
Use Accounting, Bureaucracy or Military Science (depending on location) to keep your visibility in a given region as low as possible.
Use Bureaucracy, Criminology or HUMINT to predict occupations and positions most likely to be under opposition control.
Use Alertness, Criminology or Stealth to spot potential tails. Use Disguise or Stealth to evade such tails.
Use Alertness, Criminology, Disguise or Stealth to keep meetings with sources, allies and other potential assets as low-key and inconspicuous as possible.
Use Criminology or Forensics to clean a location after use.
Use Criminology and Law to avoid attention from local police.
Use Search or SIGINT to uncover bugs.
Surveillance and Intelligence Gathering[edit]
Use Accounting, Bureaucracy or Military Science to gather information from archives and records.
Use Criminology, Disguise and Stealth to set up an effective tail. Use Drive if this is a vehicular tail.
Use SIGINT to create and monitor effective bugs. Use Stealth to break in and plant such devices.
Use Criminology, Craft (Mechanics) or Stealth to break into places.
Use Art (Photograph), Criminology and Stealth to run effective stakeouts. Use SIGINT to set up parabolic mikes, record proceedings, etc.
Use Persuade or CHA x 5 to talk your way into places.
Interrogation and Manipulating Targets[edit]
Use HUMINT or Persuade to interrogate suspects. Use Criminology or Pharmacy to enhance interrogations.
Use Persuade or CHA x 5 to turn an opposition asset.
Use Bureaucracy, Criminology, Military Science or Psychotherapy to anticipate and predict likely organizational/opposition actions.
