Background[edit]

Heroic Journey TablesEducation: Your character is a talented medic and a huge boon for any group he runs with. He has the Healer Edge and the Healing skill at d4.

Body Armor: You may trade the starting armor from your Iconic Framework for any other body armor (not power armor or robot vehicle). If this is not your first roll, apply all other results from rolling on this table to your newly chosen body armor.

Enchanted Items & Mystic Gadgets: Made of a wood unknown to most of the world, your character’s elegant staff is a powerful weapon and tool for magic work. The staff has 10 PPE (which regenerate at the same rate as the caster’s), and grants +1 to all Spellcasting or Faith rolls. Finally, it’s a combat-worthy staff (Str+d6, Reach 1, Parry +1, two-handed) that even does Mega Damage if 2 PPE is channeled through it that round.

‘’Narrative Hook’’ - The Siege of Tolkeen

Charles grew up in the city of Lazlo, the only son of acclaimed musician Alicia Davis. His father was a fan with whom she had a brief but intense relationship with before he had to move on from the city due to familial obligations. Growing up in what might be one of the greatest concentrations of educational institutions, libraries and museums on Earth, Charles took full advantage of the opportunities available. A bright kid, he was adept at picking up knowledge on a wide variety of subjects but found he had a particular flair for medicine. After graduating medical school and becoming a doctor Charles was undecided on what he wanted to do with his life. He didn't think he'd be satisfied just going to work at a hospital just yet. He had a vague feeling that he was meant for greater things, grander experiences than your standard medical practice. It was then that his father entered his life.

Turns out William's father was actually Apollo, Greek god of the sun, music, healing and prophecy among other things. Discovering this, Charles realized that it explained so many things about him. Like how he had never gotten sick a day in his life. Or how he was able to anticipate accidents and other bad situations just in time to avoid falling victim to them. And of course his affinity for medicine. Getting acquainted with his father, Charles found there was a lot to like and admire about him. After being absent for most of his life, Apollo finally took the role of Charles's dad as he tutored the young demigod in the intricacies of his abilities and the facts of divine life.

Despite having powers and abilities beyond those of mortal men, Charles wasn't actively looking to become a hero and have adventures. Then the Siege of Tolkeen happened. After treating multitudes of injured refugees from the fallen city and hearing their stories, Charles realized that he couldn't just stay safe and comfortable in the city. He had the power and skills to make a difference out in the world, and maybe even prevent things like Tolkeen's fall from happening again. So he used what money he had to buy the gear he thought he'd need and went off to join the Tomorrow Legion.

In the short time that Charles has been in the Legion he's done is best to keep his true nature a secret, not relying on his more obvious divine abilities unless circumstances require it. When Charles did have to resort to overtly using his powers in public, he usually became invisible first. Despite his best efforts to maintain a low profile, rumors and stories of a powerful hero who wielded the power of the sun itself have begun to circulate. Fortunately, thanks to Charles' precautions, those tales so far don't have his name and face attached to them.
