Hell Of A Party[edit]

I swear Fox does his best deception right out in the open. The more brazen, the better the results. Going to the party as Wyld Hunt? Sheer brilliance. Portraying Diamond as himself? Stones of pure brass. Turning me into Silver Kestrel was child's play next to that, but it worked like a charm. I'm going to have to hang onto this Silver Kestrel guise, for however long it lasts. Very handy, getting cozy with your enemies.

That orrery was impressive but.... why is it so familiar? Like Fox and Diamond. Like my dreams of the past. I've been there before, long ago. Huh, 5 years and I'm still put off my footing by all the mysteries in my head. I'm sure it'll make sense eventually, one way or the other, but for now I just have to take it in stride. We've got so much to do, and tonight's been very fruitful.

Singing Sparrow - I have GOT to make this woman an ally to our cause. Or more, if I can spare the luxury of a real relationship. She's definitely a Godblood, and doesn't seem to buy into the whole Anathema garbage like so many folks do. She /hates/ slavers... I think she stole my heart the moment I realized that. Her entire purpose here in the South seems to be screwing with the best-laid plans of the Linowans, and by extension the Guild, and that's a cause I can get behind. Every impression I'm getting from her tells me that she'll be receptive to our goals, and I think we can be of invaluable assistance to each other. And by the Sun, she's a looker to boot!

Guild Factors - It's good to see the faces of my enemies, where they aren't wearing masks like that Azah fella. It turned my stomach to have to stand there with Sparrow on my arm and smile while that snake-headed bastard Savadh flaunted his slaves, pretending like I might be interested in doing flesh trade with him. I swear, it's a good thing we had to check our weapons on entry, or I might have done something long-term stupid but short-term OH so satisfying. But his time is coming, I'm going to find a way to make him pay the dearest price for his lifestyle, and soon. The other Guildsmen were pretty much as expected, from what I had heard. It's going to be quite the game figuring out the best way to subvert and destroy their operations, and put them out of business here.

Realm Snobs - Mostly left them to Diamond and Fox, though that Magistrate, Cathak Cal, bears some real watching. The man has a reputation for being the last enemy one could make, and we'll need to make sure he isn't coming down on our heads. He's strange though... different from the other Realmers. He seems.... weary? Of the Realm pomp and nonsense? It's hard to be sure. I get the feeling that whatever course he's sailing, he's charting it himself and bedamned what anyone else has to say about it.

The Del'zahn - All I can say is, they can fight. Whatever his reason for picking a fight with the Second General, Fox surely put on a good show with it. Of course, I'm sure that would be all the reason he needed. I know what kind of tricks Fox and Diamond and I have at our disposal, but even so the General gave Fox all the fight he could handle without breaking his guise of a Dragonblood. Fox won, of course, but if he wanted to impress the partygoers with a show of Del'zahn martial skill, he succeeded admirably. He does love to show off what his people can do, and they rarely disappoint. I'm going to enjoy giving them back full control of their lives and lands, once we weed out the influence of the Guild and the Realm. But we have a lot of ice to cross before that happens.

Sardonyx - Putting the Hell in 'hell of a party'. Just a background figure until his demons arrived, and the crazed cultists came sliding down ropes to slaughter the guests. What IS it with cultists and those wavy knives? That's when things got REALLY interesting, but more on that in the next entry.
