Background[edit]

A'ishah was the secluded princess of a powerful desert kingdom, her life had already been planned out long before she was born: she shall be trained as a proper lady and a good wife, so one day she could be married off to a powerful prince and forge new alliances for her country. Having nothing else to do in the palace, A'ishah learned singing and dancing from the court jester, and realized she is very talented in it. From that moment on, a small wish was seeded in her heart: the wish to go out into the world, to see the world and for the world to see her. But that isn't possible, right? That's what she thought, until that adventure arrived at her Father's court.

The adventurer presented various treasures he found in the dungeons. For A'ishah, he gave her a beautiful golden lamp. The lamp was inhabited by a djinn that feeds on creativity and art, so when the young princess ran her delicate fingers over its metallic surface while singing with her beautiful voice, she unwittingly empowered the terrifying djinn and released him from his durance. The djinn, imprisoned and enraged, was fully readied to lash out on the first person he sees, whoever that is. But A'ishah, so sheltered that she barely knew any strangers, didn't find anything wrong with his appearance. At all. The djinn was both flabbergasted and touched.

The djinn, identifying himself as Jade, offered the princess three wishes within his power. But A'ishah has only one wish: for the djinn to become her friend, and listen to her sing and watch her dance. The djinn laughed and said for that, he will grant her one wish for each line she sings and each step she dances. Then the young girl asked the djinn what he wanted. Once again astonished, Jade confessed to her his deepest desire: to find another one of his kind, another djinn. Concluding that the only place where they can find another such artifact is the dungeons, A'ishah used this to justify her running away from home, trusting that Jade will protect her.
