Background:[edit]

Gimir (Joyful Giver) is not quite as dour and taciturn as his racial stereotype. In fact most people that have dealings with the young dwarfling say he's probably one of the most social of his kind ever to crawl up to the surface. Unfortunately, his clothes seem to utterly cursed to have no color to them at all, as if they're continually being robbed of all hue by the constant wreathes of smoke from his omni-present granite pipe that never seems to interfere with speaking, eating, or downing mug after mug of ale (Proper Dwarven past times, according to Gimir)

Acting far older and world-weary than his measly three inch beard gives him the right to be, his grumbling about how all the other races never has any actual disapproval built into it, instead he pays the proper lip service to how all the other races are 'Doing it wrong' before lending his strong back to any of the tasks at hand. Rumor has it that Gimir's cooking produces hue-less wonders much like his clothes, but their taste has made most of the Tartarean's staying at the Sweeper Inn weep openly in the amazing and complex flavors.

Rights and Wrongs[edit]

  • Duty
Help out those in need, even if they don't ask for it or outright refuse it. It's Proper Dwarven behavior.
  • Revenge
Never forget those who wrong you, the Clan, or your friends.
  • Punishment
The law determines the punishment for a crime, not the individual.
  • Trust
Everyone is trustworthy, until they prove that they are not.
  • Lying
A lie ruins one's honor, but between personal honor and the Clan the Clan's honor shall be protected.
  • Cheating
Cheating ruins your honor.
  • Stealing
It is never permitted to take what isn't yours.
  • Killing
Monsters are to be killed, else they will kill others. A Dwarf may never harm another Dwarf.
  • Authority
Laws are for the betterment of all, as long as the laws are Just.
  • Class
You are where you should be. If you don't like it, do something about it. The Sweepers are always hiring.
  • Honor
My honor is my life. My Clan's honor is my and all of my ancestor's lives.

Sins and Virtues[edit]

  • Gimir is a Proper Dwarf. It is Proper to have some Pride in yourself and your actions.
  • Gimir is kind to all who have not shown themselves without Honor
  • Gimir never refuses free food and drink, it wouldn't be Proper.
  • Gimir's tongue could make a sailor blush, but none have ever seen him dally with anyone.
  • Gimir is neither Wrathful, nor Forgiving. Wronging him shows the person to be Without Honor.
  • Gimir is Greedy, with moments of unasked and generous charity spotting up his record as a miser.
  • Gimir is diligent in all of his tasks. No work he performs will need to be done by another.
