Dynamo City is a generic Supers Role-playing setting for free non-commercial use.

Introduction

The villainous Timestream has damaged causality with his meddling. Time has collapsed together, and Dynamo City has become an amalgamation of different eras, andeach brings with it it's own superheroes and supervillains.

Can the psychic Mindgame, the strange outcaste Bugbite, and the other heroes of the newly formed Dynamo Reperation League begin to correct the chaos? Is the condition permanent? Are these truly unaltered versions of the past and future that have been dumped together, or are they in fact alternate realities? Can history be trusted? Even if the damage is repaired, what will happen? And where in the multiverse is Timestream, and what happened to the heroes that tried and failed to stop him?

Major Events

• February 2008 – Philip Lawrence makes breakthroughs in Relativistic and Quantum Physics. Begins developing theories and technology to attempt time travel.
• September 2008 – An early prototype slows time in a contained area from five seconds to fifteen minutes. Results in many grants and capital investment in Lawrence's research. Case/Earnest Ltd — large electronics and manufacturing company become a primary backer. With additonal funding comes more researchers and equipment.
• January 24, 2009 – Lawrence uncovers an interesting permuation of some algorthims and formulas exposing new direction for research. Spends next weeks refining and building a new prototype
• February 5, 2009 — Lawrence declared missing, some hardware no longer in department.
• February 6, 2009 — Local timeline collapses.

Characters

Dynamo City provides a large area for many diverse heros and villians from differing backgrounds to be thrown together, with a common link. This section details some of the more significant ones.

Timestream

In reality Timestream isn't a villain. He started out as a brilliant young physicist working on a Unified Theory. When his research looked like it was pointing toward a way to travel through time, he threw himself wholeheartedly into that line of research, with boundless naivete but entirely altruistic means... he wanted to 'fix' human history. (Remember that perennial ethics question: if you could go back in time and strangle Hitler in his crib, would you?)

Needless to say, Something Went Wrong, and now Dynamo City is feeling the effects of Chaos Theory Gone Wild. ‘Timestream’ was the name the local media gave him, and he was vilified primarily because nothing sells papers like a villain. He himself is … well, there are a few possibilities: he may be trying to fix things, he may be in the past trying to salvage something from the mess, he may be in hiding… or he may be that really mysterious hero no one knows about. Assuming he didn't lose his marbles.

Dynamo Reperation League

The major organised group of heroes is the Dynamo Reperation League that was established by two of the earliest supers to turn up in the city, Mindgame and Bugbite
