Background From a young age, Eldrahir has been fascinated by the power of weapons and the ability they have to shape the world. He was enthralled by the tales his father would tell; of the great campaign of the Last Alliance, the march upon Mount Doom and of the blade Narsil that cut the ring from the hand of the Dark Lord. Perhaps it for this reason then that, unlike his older brothers, he eskewed the path of a warrior and worked to become a smith instead.

He worked diligently to hone his skills over the years but as time passed he felt frustrated by just how insular and introspective the denezens of Mirkwood had become. More and more he believed that the way to defeat the shadows that were ever encroaching upon the borders of his people lay out in the wider world and that out there somewhere, amongst the world of Men and Dwarves, lay the answers he seeked in creating a weapon powerful enough to protect his people.

However, it was not until after the Battle of the Five Armies that these malcontentions could be constrained no longer. Amongst the force sent by King Thrandruil were Eldrahir's father, a veteran of the campaign of the Last Alliance, along with his two eldest sons. While Eldrahir's father returned home after the great battle, his siblings did not. It was then, in his grief, that Eldrahir resolved himself to find a way to rid his people of their enemies for once and ever and it is for this reason that he left his Mirkwood home to travel the wider world.
