A brief description of the Empress-class voidfighter for Gunstar Autochthonia: Raiton Wing

Voidfighter.jpg

Recently, the GDL has supplemented its line of Voidfighters with the introduction of the new Empress-class fighters; Voidfighters which can transform into armored humanoid battle-suits, wielding giant artifact weapons. Only the most elite of pilots can handle these new, untested systems; with one singular exception, each Empress fighter has to be crafted specifically to meet the needs of a single Celestial pilot. Because of the unique flexibility afforded by these new fighters, their pilots have become a priceless utility tool in the GDL’s arsenal; capable of shooting down enemy devas, exploring strange new worlds, or even patrolling the metropolises of Autochthonia.

Voidfighter Power Set[edit]

Ship Sensors d6, Vector-thrust Reflexes d8, Essence Cannons d8, Speed d10

Nova Warhead: Spend two Essence. Step up Essence Cannons to d12 for one attack, and make it an Area attack: Add one d6 to the dice pool per ally or opponent in area and apply an additional effect die to each target in the area. Then shutdown Nova Warhead power until the next transitional scene. (This gives you a big, expensive, explosive attack with a long reload time)
Charged power: Shutdown the highest rated Voidfighter power and gain one Essence. Recover power by activating opportunity or during next transitional scene. (This lets you un-commit motes from your ship’s systems to spend on charms)
Alchemical charm: this is a slot for one custom alchemical-style charm of the player’s choosing Limit: [Transform] Shut down the Gunstrider power set to activate the Voidfighter Power set. Also shutdown all charms, excellencies, and other panoplies whose use would be inapplicable (lets you change forms, and makes it so that you can’t get do humanoid things in jet form: ie, you can’t hit a dude with a daiklave from inside a spaceship)

Gunstrider Power Set[edit]

Armored Durability d8, Colossal Strength d12, Manufactured Stamina d6

SFX: Collateral damage. Any successful physical attack or reaction effect may incidentally also affect a nearby mook or piece of scenery for free. (Giant robots smash things!)
Alchemical charm: this is a slot for one custom alchemical-style charm of the player’s choosing
Charged power: Shutdown the highest rated Gunstrider power and gain one Essence. Recover power by activating opportunity or during next transitional scene. (This lets you un-commit motes from your mech’s systems to spend on charms)
Limit: [Transform] Shut down the Voidfighter power set to use the Gunstrider power set. Panopoly dice and effects may be used with the Gunfighter power set. (You are assumed to have a Warstrider sized versions of any artifacts purchased during character creation)

Example Alchemical Charms:[edit]

Mobile Sensory Drone: Spawn a d6 Mobile Sensory Drone asset that can be used to extend the range of your ship’s sensors, or added to a dice pool to spot hidden enemies.)
Comprehensive Surgical Systems: If you use the Recovery action on another or someone uses the Recovery action on you to recover from Physical stress, add d6 to the dice pool and step up the effect die +1. During a transition scene, you may spend one essence to automatically step down physical trauma by one, in addition to any other recovery.)
Optical Shroud: Spend 1E to makes it impossible for others to visually notice you for a scene unless you attack them, they use non-visual detection, or you are somehow made particularly noticeable.

You can switch out Alchemical charms between missions, if you want.
