Excie can act in the role of the heroine, bravely putting herself in the way of danger to save innocents, fight bad guys and monsters and do the right thing. Within this role she can do local, momentary actions that defy reason, breaking the rules of physics and operating on the mythic principles of heroism. If she is manipulated into the role of victim or villain then this gift is useless.

One of Excie's many adventures in the town of Obscurity involved defeating an evil wizard. One of her friends, an amateur witch, managed to trap the wizard harmlessly within a cell phone. Since then Excie has used the cell phone like a modern day magic wand. It has a variety of spells in the form of apps she can activate at the press of a button. Right now these include; telepathic talk and text, a camera that can fast forward or rewind the time on a photo to look into the past or future, a fashion app that lets her design her clothes and instantly change them, a teleportation email function, a friend app that convinces people they are friends with her, a force generating app that can create protective force fields or devastating force blasts, access to the Mythic information superhighway and the advice of the wizard still trapped within. Downloading more apps would require deleting older ones. People may telepathically text/phone her by thinking about her hard enough until it rings.
BACKGROUND[edit]
Excie Davis was a smart, curious girl with a good heart; a real diamond in the rough. Her parents were drug addicts and gamblers barely scraping by. She was always small and timid, not like the mythological heroes she read about to escape her harsh reality. She was often left alone or her parents would have friends over so she would stay out of the way and hide all by herself, wishing she had friends, wishing she had a real family. Though she was always kind to everyone, it was like she was born under a bad sign, doomed to a tragic ending equal to the goodness that dwelled within her. At a young age she was forced to drop out of school so that she could earn money to help her family out. At only fourteen her father brought her to a sleazy modeling agency and basically sold her out for money. She slaved as an underage, underpaid and underappreciated model for three years. Though she tried to make the best of it and learned to love the fashion world, it can eat you alive. She started to make a name for herself but the more money she made the worse things got. She met all the wrong people and became a teenage addict, partying and purging, making wrong decisions and becoming who she promised herself she would never become. She gave her parents money in an attempt to help them and it only made things worse for them. Her mother overdosed and her father got in too deep gambling and disappeared. She had never been more alone, more lost and headed towards destruction.
Then everything changed. Out of the blue a miracle occurred and she was chosen to become one of the Sovereign Powers of Earth. Suddenly she was the Saint of Obscurity, but no spirit or boon companion arrived to explain her newfound power or purpose. Instead something sinister slithered into her life and once again took advantage of her. Hather Cristnos was a sly Deceiver who had concocted the perfect plan to procure a pet Power. He showed her an image of her own doomed existence, she saw her pathetic life from birth to her death, ODing just like her mother. He explained that worse than her own fate that the world was facing impending doom and only she could save it. The handsome stranger orchestrated a daring adventure where Excie used her newfound abilities to barely snatch victory out of the jaws of defeat. Together they saved what they could of the world, Cristnos explained that her efforts had protected the town of Obscurity, a slice of her own power but that the rest of the world had been lost. She believed him. She could feel the change, the Estate of Obscurity itself was within her. Illusions and lies made Excie believe his story, and she became dependent upon Hather for his advice and his affection.
So she had a new lease on life. In Obscurity, Excie attended college, kicked her bad habits, made close friends and helped save the world (or so she thought). Though she cloaked her actions in her magic to make most townfolk forget the wacky things that happened, her friends helped her fend off evil wizards, giant monsters and various nefarious sprites and spirits. All of this was set up by Hather, an appealing fantasy where Excie was the main character. She got her life in order and began to think of herself as a real heroine. She loved Hather and he guided her to ever more amazing heights, training her for some dark purpose she had no clue about. To Excie, Cristnos was her savior, the only other being with powers similar to her own and the only source of information she could trust.
Then the masquerade started to slip. One of Excie's friends, who had picked up a bit of witchcraft over the course of her adventures, helped her bind a powerful evil wizard into a regular smart phone. Merging the magical device with her own power, the cell phone granted Excie a variety of new abilities, new toys and new sources of information. She began to realize that time had passed in the world outside, and that there was a world outside at all. Cristnos came and went as he pleased and during a particularly long absence Excie worked up the courage to ask the wizard in her phone some direct questions about the true nature of the world.
She had been lied to. She still had every confidence that Hather was on her side and wouldn't steer her wrong. He must have some reason for keeping her in Obscurity and helping her become what she had become. But she needed to know the truth, and with her GPS app guiding her she found a way out of the strange town that had been her gilded prison. She wandered the world, taking it all in, a changed woman. The world had not changed much while she was absent, but she was totally different now. Her phone told her she had a home and a family waiting for her somewhere (or did it say familia, that wizard talks funny anyway). She followed where it led and soon she found herself at the gate of her real Chancel, the abode of her real Celestial Brothers and Sisters.
