The following entries are all taken more or less directly from the Mass Effect series. Some modifications have been made to descriptions where they reference elements of that setting that do not apply to mine. They do not represent the full-range of shotguns available in the game but cover a range from common military hardware up to elite or specialist models. They are also either human-centric or more generic weapons. Individual races may have more specific armaments used mainly by them.

Weapons are generally referred to by a code and the name mentioned below. The code is not supplied as it depends on what mods and specifications that particular weapon is keyed to but they tend to take alphanumeric form (e.g. M-8, L-12, B-22).

Each weapon is marked as either Common, Uncommon or Rare, indicating the level of resource or effort required to obtain one. Each also has a 0-5 rating (with 5 being the highest) in five categories (weight, fire rate, clip size, damage and accuracy). Note that the higher a weapon's rating in weight, the heavier it is. A 0 indicates a very poor performance in that category (most typically found in fire rate or accuracy)

Eviscerator[edit]

The Lieberschaft 2180 shotgun, or "Eviscerator," is of human civilian design and has a unique ammunition generator. Where most modern firearms shave off chips or pellets from an ammunition block, the Eviscerator shaves off serrated metal edges designed to fly aerodynamically. This dramatically improves its armor-piercing capabilities, and its tight grouping ensures lethality at longer ranges than standard shotguns. This design violates several intergalactic weapons treaties, so the Eviscerator is not distributed to militaries.[1]

Rarity: Uncommon
Weight: 3
Capacity: 1
Fire Rate: 1
Damage: 3
Accuracy: 1

Katana[edit]

The Katana is a common mercenary weapon, and is also popular on colonies with large pest infestations. It's deadly at short range, but ineffective at long range.[2]

Rarity: Common
Weight: 3
Capacity: 1
Fire Rate: 1
Damage: 3
Accuracy: 1

Raider[edit]

The Raider is a semi-automatic shotgun that loads slowly but fires rapidly, with tremendous force. Short-range even for a shotgun, the Raider has a large pellet spread. Rather than eliminating recoil, its integral compensators instead make it predictable and vertical.[3]

Rarity: Common
Weight: 4
Capacity: 2
Fire Rate: 2
Damage: 4
Accuracy: 0

Scimitar[edit]

n elite military shotgun capable of rapid fire, this weapon is deadly at short range but ineffective at long range. It is effective against shields and biotic barriers but weak against armor.

Rarity: Uncommon
Weight: 3
Capacity: 2
Fire Rate: 2
Damage: 3
Accuracy: 1

Wraith[edit]

The Wraith is favored among mercenaries, pirates, and slavers. Its high-impact damage and sturdy construction make it a popular "quick-draw" shotgun. A variant of the Eviscerator, demand for the Wraith is higher than ever, even though the weapon is banned in many civilized sectors of space. In order to lighten its weight, the Wraith holds fewer shots than the Eviscerator.

Rarity: Rare
Weight: 3
Capacity: 1
Fire Rate: 0
Damage: 4
Accuracy: 2
