Halfling society has always been secretive and seperate from that of the big folk. Hidden away, they have mastered the arts of stealth and death from the shadows to preserve thier way of life. They have few dealings with the big folk, but when they do thier childlike appearnce allows them to effortlessly blend into the big folks world. As such, Halflings are rarly seen in the big towns. And that is the way they prefer it to be.

However, certain groups of the big folk have recognized the skills that Halfling society can provide them. They will occaisionly hire halflings to preform services that they cannot appear to be involved in. Halflings are specialists and their services do not come cheap.

On occasion, a messanger from the Magorcacy of Gena has sent word. What was deemed to be a simple elimination of a band of Goblins from the Empire has gone horrible wrong. Two expiditions had been slaughter and the Magocracy would be humiliated if word got out that they were unable to handle such a small incursion within thier lands. With the Army away dealing with the Empire on the Front lines, the Magocracy needs to have this "problem" eliminated before doubt is cast upon thier new rule.

They have sent for Felix Goodfellow, a tailor in the secretive Halfling village of Oakhill, who they have hired in the past to take care of unwanted problems. The remanants of the Magocracy have needed thier services in the past.

After a good breakfast and two lunches the council agreed to provide the Magocracy Felix's services. The Halfling Council and the Magocracy Remanants have always had a mutual respect for each other but with the great return from the Gate, the Council has a great desire for impartial intelligence on their re-emergence in these lands. In addition, there is some mutual benefit to co-operating with the Magocracy at the present as Goblins have been raiding Halfling territories.

Since the Gate re-opened, the magocracy seems to busstle with activity. This is begining to become a nuissance to the Halfling way of life with so many foreigners poking thier noseses in Halfling affairs. In addition to this there is increased tremoil due to the big folk war between the Magocracy and the Empire in these lands. The Council instructs Felix to investigate what is afoot in teh big folk's lands so that they can assess if this is a threat to future breakfasts and suppers in the Halfling villages.
