Fiona, the Goblin King’s Daughter

Many years ago, the Goblin King was summoned by a foolish mortal girl, and stole away her baby brother. That girl was brave and clever, and she journeyed forth to the Goblin King’s lair, braved his fearsome kingdom, and along the way earned the help of noble friends and allies. In the end, she won her brother back, but she decided to stay, along with her new friends, and became the Goblin King’s bride. And in time, that girl had a child, who would become a Princess among goblin kind…

That girl was Fiona. Raised among the goblins, she is wild and fierce, but her human mother’s heart gives her bravery and cleverness as well. When her father began seeking to marry her off, she ran away.

Goblins: Goblins, as a race, are predatory humanoid creatures, part beast, part fae, part human. They will take away unwanted children sometimes, or claim the disobedient ones that wander into dark forests at night (light makes them weak and nauseous, so they stay to the dark). Those children they claim will serve the goblins as slaves until they either grow up or allow their bitterness and despair to overcome them, becoming goblins themselves.

+4 Half-Goblin: Fiona is half goblin; she is tremendously strong and tough for her size, has sharp fangs and claws, and knows how to hunt and hide when necessary, and is at home in darkness. +2 Herb-Lore*: Fiona has lived in the Dark Forest all her life, and she knows the property of every leaf and root therein. She can make simple potions and poultices, use wolfsbane to ward off wolves, stinkweed to hide her trail, and deal with plant-like monsters. +2 Clever: Growing up in the woods among predatory monsters has kept Fiona’s wits sharp and her tongue quick. +2 Kalazak: Something like a cross between a cat and a lizard, Kalazak is Fiona’s guardian. He is normally the size of a small housecat, but can grow into the size of a wolf if his mistress is in danger.

  • +2 Ferocious Guardian Beast
  • +0 Small Cat-sized Companion
  • - 2 Easily Distracted

-2 Pride: Fiona is proud of her skills and abilities and of her status. +0 Princess: Fiona is royalty, even if not human. This gives her certain rights and privileges, as well as generally high social status.

Using Labyrinth as a starting point rather than literalizing it. I'm not really that interested in bringing in the "real world" elements, so assume Sarah was just a human girl from Zo rather than from Earth. Also, this Goblin King is probably a bit scarier and rather less musical than Jareth.
