Ruiz de Santiago is a Cat-Folk with brown tabby fur. He has obviously lived by himself in the wilderness for a few years, as evidenced by the dusty tracks he leaves behind and his abominable manners, picking his teeth during almost any conversation. Wearing leathers and a pot helm, he carries a hunting knife, flail, and a fine halberd.

Ruiz grew up in a noble household, his father the consort of a minor queen. She abdicated and went traveling, finding new and better uses for the royal treasury. Ruiz’s took some of his kids back to his homelands, Ruiz included. Ruiz was always more comfortable outdoors and chafed at the pleasantries and politics at court. Eventually, Ruiz’s father courted a noblewoman who took a liking to him and decided to keep him for herself. Now that his father had lost his outdoor privileges, Ruiz decided his father had no use of his prized dueling halberd. Ever since, Ruiz has been on walkabout, wandering the desert and surviving on game and wild plants. He recently decided to return to the kingdom he was born in, wondering if any of his estranged siblings are around. His purse has gotten light, so he is looking for some odd jobs to gain some coin.
