Background: Ivy Galan is the younger brother of Blossom Galan and Lilly Galan. Unbeknownst to Ivy, he's also got a twin sister named Violet that has yet to make an appearance. Ivy, unlike the other children, was largely raised by their father Rose whom imparted a great deal of wisdom and knowledge down upon him. Unfortunately, unlike Lilly and Blossom, he's also the child of Khyber and this resulted in him being forever marked with a dark heart that he wasn't aware existed within in his soul.

Ivy Galan had his soul 'magic jarred' into that of the Lord of Blades by accident during one of his brothers early magical experiments. This awkward situation persisted for some time as the two of them traveled around Khorvaire in the vain attempt to discover a cure for his condition. Ultimately, Ivy regained his body but the price was that he would develop a pathological fear of being outside of a suit of armor. To this day, very few people can tell the difference between the Ivy of then and the Ivy of now.

Ivy was very briefly killed during a battle with his brother. The man was possessed by the spirit of the Keeper and thus attempted to assassinate Lilly Galan in order to prevent him from stopping Elina's destiny as the Promise Breaker. This brief transformation gave Ivy all of the powers of a Pit Fiend and the appearance of an evil Solar Deva. He can probably still assume this unholy form but it would immediately transform his alignment to Lawful Evil.

As an interesting note, Ivy is bisexual, unlike his father and siblings. While he maintains a torch for Elina, he is profoundly attracted to Tirmek in both of the demon's forms. Due to the fact that both are spoken for, he's since become the regular lover of the half-dragon Hyrd. The two are in a monogamous relationship despite the discovery that Ivy had a child with the Talenta Plains Desert harlot Dandelion (also the lover of his brother) and Ivy's occasional lapses of jealousy over Tirmek.

Roleplaying Hints: Ivy is probably the sanest man on the ship, which is not an enviable position. Kind, compassionate, friendly, and decent... he's barely managed to survive these last few years. Nevertheless, he keeps trying to divert the destructive impulses of those around him to more noble ends. This especially includes his brother, whom would otherwise probably slaughter everything around him in a purity crusade.
